Looking for a book to save paper samples. This one was pretty easy to make - it's an accordion folded strip of paper. I put double stick tape between the folds on one side, leaving the other side free so I can glue on my sample. I put a museum board cover on this one. I think this would work better for my needs.

The bee is entering the blossom of the Orange Jewelweed, also called Spotted Jewelweed and Orange Balsam. This plant is an annual, native to North America. The leaves appear to be silver or "jeweled" when held underwater, perhaps explaining its name. Jewelweed is said to be helpful with skin rashes, but according to Wikipedia controlled studies do not bear this out. This clump of jewelweed was growing at the edge of the lake below the crest of the dam at Kaercher Creek.

I got this from the same vintage bazaar I got the Daisy winder from www.flickr.com/photos/wychbury/3756348578/ and totally forgot to photograph it!
It's an amazing collection of samples, albeit very dirty but I may attempt to breathe some life into them at some point (If I can bear to wash away their history that is!)
