Joe and Darren had a hockey game this morning in town, and Flo worked at the church nursery, so Zofia and I tagged along to church. Afterwards, we left Joe home and the rest of us headed to Frederick for a leisurely afternoon. The day wound down with a walk around the neighborhood, the abduction of a rock from a construction site to hold down Pax's leash, and a bit of reading.
Sample photos taken with a Vivitar Auto Wide 35mm f/2.8. A big storm rolled through Phoenix pre-dawn. Resulting in a 'Big Sky' cloud event over the region. Weekend culminated with a ride out to the Superstitions with friends to eat Bison burgers and deep fried rattlesnake.

Because this is made by plastic resin, cannot eat. ^^

George explains proper sampling technique for 14C in DIC (dissolved inorganic carbon). We'll use this to track what's left of the "bomb peak" of radiocarbon from atomic weapons testing in order to show how long the water has been away from the ocean surface. I'll probably be seeing this sample again in the AMS lab at WHOI after I get back.
