Sambar deer (Rusa unicolor) are known for their remarkable ability to stand on their hind legs while foraging, allowing them to reach higher branches, leaves, and fruits that are out of reach for other herbivores. This behavior is especially common during dry seasons when ground-level vegetation becomes scarce. Their strong hind legs and balanced posture enable them to access nutrient-rich food in trees and shrubs, showcasing their adaptability in diverse habitats.
