One of the best and busiest market is Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Its has small and big stores of the traditional Kashmiri handicrafts. While shopping there on my last visit took the photo of these women typically dressed in salwar kameez and hijab covering their heads while one of them does not appear to be covering her head. It was a warm August day and it's apparent as each has a soft drink can in their hands.

The house on the background is a traditional newar architecture exemple, marked by striking brick work and a unique style of wood carving.
At the first floor of the newar hous on the background, the windows are called Pāsukhā Jhyā (पासुखा झ्या:). It is a small window with five units symbolizing the Pancha Buddha (Five Buddhas). It is mostly found on the shrine house of monasteries.
Above is the Gājhyā (गा:झ्या:), a projecting window located under a roof
I went to a burlesque show last night, and thought I'd wear something comfortable but dressy. This had been in my wardrobe for years, but never seen a public outing before ...
I love this salwar kameez, both the colour and how comfortable it is, but I haven't really come up with anywhere suitable to wear it yet.
A quick selfie whilst I was waiting for the show to start at The Vault, a great performance venue in Port Kembla, NSW.
I did a quick-change yesterday so I could take some photos to show a friend of mine my salwar kameez. I bought it ages ago, but haven't found the right event/outing for wearing it yet.

"When I was young the silk
of my mind
hard as a peony head
unfurled
and wind bloomed the parachute:
The air-head tugged me
up,
tore my roots loose and drove
high, so high
I want to touch down now
and taste the ground
I want to take in
my silk
and ask where I am
before it is too late to know "
~ A. R. Ammons, 1926-2001

Here's the salwar kameez with the dupatta, in a simple drape suitable for walking around the city.
Obviously I had a handbag as well (my friend was watching that for me), and there was a pink cardigan too that I neglected to get any pictures of, as I only wore it at the beginning and end of the day.
