“When your lonely heart
has learned its lesson
You'd be hers
if only she would call
In the wee small hours of the morning
That's the time you miss her most of all”

I saw Duncan near my desk and just found my computer screen open to a search for yachts.
Should I be concerned?!

I couldn't resist a shot of Captain, the scarlet macaw outside the Salty Dog in Hilton Head. He appears to be pondering life's great questions - or maybe just his lunch.
to reliving past glories. looking forward to seeing some old friends around these parts for the next 15 days.
how cool is my son Logan, his grand parents brought him to the tall ships in Dublin today and he bought a Captains hat for himself and he made sure it was large so i could use it for a shot as well
thanks buddy :~)

In February 1984, as LN-RKB for SAS Scandinavian Airlines, this jet slid off the runway at JFK into Jamaica Bay. Repaired and sold to FedEx, N311FE has served as a DC-10 and now MD-10 as it taxis from the ramp in Memphis.

Salty started feeling poorly about a week ago, subtle at first, but clearly off her normal game. Today we visited the vet and after a physical exam the doc recommended x-rays as she was having a hard time hearing her heart. (I never noticed how close “hear” and “heart” are) Not our regular vet this was a very clinical setting, the vet stepped out a moment to talk to the techs and I overheard her say, “She’s an old girl, gentle.” I couldn’t say it better.
Not long after the vet returned, and the news was not good. Her chest cavity and abdomen were full of fluid, most likely caused by some kind of cancer, we could do more to find out exactly what, but I don’t want to put the old girl through it. At over 15 years, I feel “cancer” is another way of saying “old age.” I’m told it will be soon and the best option for her is “hospice” which she clearly has with us.
So as we prepare to celebrate Sadie and her 18th birthday in a couple of days, we temper it with the last loving, somber days of our dear old Salty dog. Life…Death…Joy...Pain...Sorrow...Love....... Dogs
