As a photographer, I'm always looking for something that stands out and grabs my attention. When we dropped in on a nearby Salsa Festival recently, the energetic rhythm of the music was hard to ignore. The band was loud and hot. Everyone could feel it - many were dancing but this couple had it right and reminded me of Shakira's lyrics in her song, "hips don't lie!"

Monday night is Salsa Night at the outdoor dance floor on the riverbank across from our place. I shot a lot of dancers, using mostly my beloved MACRO lens, the Canon 100 mm f2.8, which people say is good for portrait work, too. It was hard, isolating the action and capturing moments. Out of about 100 shots -- in an hour or so -- I got about 4 that I like. I did a little processing on this one, using selective color to make the dancers stand out.
Hope you like it. I'll have to return to shoot again... maybe for Swing dancing night!

The Mr. has made another post. I've told him though, that if he keeps embarrassing Benny and I, no more shout-outs! He is sweet, though... so, if you're so inclined you can check out that's entertainment!

After a few long days with lawyers, I was invited out to go dancing with one of ours. He's a great guy and, as much as I like to tease lawyers as members of an impenetrable sovereign nation (they have their own superset of rules, their own imports and exports, they live among us, yet exist within a patina of independence), I do like being with them for the intellectual stimulation. From these photos, it's hard to get any sense of intellectualism, although that's not really the point. I suppose the counterpoint is the point in this case.
My attorney here is Chanler, the only guy consistently in all the photos! And in the end, I put up a sunset photo of Houston. That's about the prettiest you'll ever see Houston.

You and your very lovely lady, and her best girlfriend, first visited the newly opened Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in 1993 during her glorious first year of operations. Those were exciting times on the Vegas Strip when nightly the pirate ship Hispaniola would do battle with the British Royal Navy ship Brittania during the Battle of Buccaneer Bay! ☠️ The three of you had read the Robert Louis Stevenson adventure novel in elementary school, and as kids, you all had seen the 1950 Disney movie at the drive-in. None of you had a problem with the Robert Louis Stevenson pirate theme of this Mirage sister hotel. You and your very lovely lady were sad and mad when ten years later in 2003, the hotel permanently closed the pirate show and abandoned its classic pirate theme for a so-called adult and sophisticated look and feel. 😒 And you and your very lovely lady were even more mad and sad when the TI added the CVS drug store to its facade, and eventually in 2016, added the Marvel Comics Avengers Battle Station! But of course none of those changes stopped you and your very lovely lady from booking several one week stays at Treasure Island over the course of 28 years of Loving/Living/Leaving Las Vegas! 😏
Clearly TI, aka Treasure Island, has gone through many drastic changes during its 28 years of existence.
Nonetheless, this nifty little hotel/casino has managed to handle all of these drastic changes, as well as survive the Coronavirus Global Pandemic, and the Coronavirus Recession, and has still managed to exist as a worthy vacation destination and exist as an alternative to the Mirage Resort & Casino, her big sister down the block. 😎😷
So is it any mystery why you are always drawn to revisit this fond destination? 😎
her face is blurry and that is probably down to motion blur. However the rest of the photo is sharp so I don't really mind.

There’s Mambo and Merengue nightclub dancing going on at Gonzalez y Gonzalez! There’s Dueling Pianos still going on at The Bar At Times Square! There’s Merry Cowboy Mischief going on upstairs at Coyote Ugly! And then there’s Pizza going on at Sirrico’s NY-Style Pizza! So are you prepared to burn an hour or two flying Solo at the NY-NY nightclubs, or are you ready to conserve your energy and grab a pizza and just retire to your hotel room for a good night’s sleep?
