The Salmon run. A very large Salmon that appears very small compared to the obstinate he must over come to reach his goal of spawning up stream.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

We arrived at Salmon Glacier when it started to rain. The rain lasted all night and we were in the clouds with zero visibility. It was cosy in our truck camper and we were happy to wait the weather out. When the rain finally stopped views to the glacier opened up and we were in for a bluebird day.

A male pink salmon, or humpie/humpback, pokes its head out of the water as it tries to swim upstream despite the large number of fish in its way and the cage/weir across the river.
This individual hasn't developed the large tell-tale hump and hooked upper jaw yet.
As I mentioned in a previous video post (I managed to delete it while trying to update the vidio), the Fisheries and Oceans Canada employees periodically open a gate in the cage/weir thing that runs across the river. That affords them the opportunity to count the fish easier and to limit the numbers of fish heading upstream to the gravel nesting sites any any given time. Too much competition in the prime spots to create redds (nests) can reduce overall reproductive success.
The area host a number of black bears (none while I was there) and eagles during the run. I did meet Kwok Tsz Ki (James) one morning. James is a film producer and professional wildlife photographer from Hong Kong. I would say he is quite accomplished: jameskwokwildlife.wixsite.com/website/portfolio. He uses some of the same gear I do. He's much better at utilizing it though. LOL

Salmon Beach is a spectacular special access destination in the Tacoma area, with many beach houses overlooking the Puget Sound in full view of beautiful sunsets. This was a great clear-day opportunity to capture tunnel shots in golden lighting.

Salmon migrate upstream in summer, and you can see them leaping up this waterfall in the Scottish highlands.
We were there a little early in the season and the fish were staying hidden, but the falls are still an impressive sight.
Dear customers

Atlantic Salmon on the River South Tyne this morning leaping up a waterfall/weir near the small town of Haltwhistle in Northumbria, UK
The last day's of a salmon's life is not easy, having to migrate upstream back to its spanning grounds. In this image you can see such a salmon working its way upstream through shallow waters and obstructions such as the fallen branches in its way.
This one was lucky. A young racoon wandered over this same spot about a minute after this salmon had safely crossed it and had swam off.

Two salmon have misjudged the ladder on the Bowmanville Creek and landed on a ledge but is easy for them to thresh and wriggle their way back into the river.

Along the main Salmon river in Idaho. One of the nations last "wild and scenic" rivers. It flows across the wilderness and eventually into the Snake river.
Folks who go to Brooks Falls on the Katmai while the salmon are running want to see this iconic photo as real life action. There are two platforms built near some falls on the river where you can catch the action. And there are plenty of bears that come to this area to fish at this time. In fact, there is a webcam that you can view to see the bears fishing!
This bear was fishing at the top of the falls and would attempt to catch those fish that jumped close enough. This salmon was a bit to close as the bear was successful in this attempt. The meal was to be a short one, just a snack, as the bear tried to maximize it's time at the falls by catching and eating as much salmon as it could catch in preparation for winter. And this bear was in a more successful spot than many of the other bears who used a variety of techniques to catch salmon. After this bear caught a salmon it would move over about 10 feet nearer to the edge of the river where it could rip the salmon apart and eat it without losing it in the current.
