Maybe it's just my imagination but the cloud formations on the right that appear to be sitting just under the mountainous region of the island look like animals seen frequently on St. Thomas. Going from left to right 1) turtle 2) iguana (or lizard) and 3) chicken. LOL

A few months ago I visited US Virgin Islands. A popular destination for Americans and Canadians due to its proximity to the countries. Lots of direct flights, the "main" island, Saint Thomas, has 2 cruise terminals so at any given time you may be dealing with a few thousand tourists packed on the island. Especially on the island's most famous beach, Magens Bay. Doesn't sound very appealing to me. Which is why I decided to visit Magens Bay when there was no cruise ship docked on the island. And it was perfect. Had the beach for myself. Almost. There were obviously a few beachgoers but the coolest thing was these 2 kids that started playing around me and posing for me the moment they saw me pull out my camera. This was my best photo and I would dare to call it "street photography" even though it was taken at the beach!
Funky Green Dogs - Fired Up (Murk's Original Groove) - 1996
One frosty neighborhood.
This view from my front door was especially pretty one early morning. Something was in the air !! Maybe the tiny crystals in the atmosphere made colors glowing in the trees and clouds. I just had to take a shot at it.
Frost forms the same way as dew except it occurs when the dew point is below freezing. True frost forms when the temperature is below freezing. The moisture goes straight from a gas to a solid. If the moisture goes from a gas to a liquid and then to a solid then the result will be frozen dew. You can tell the difference between frost and frozen dew by looking at them. Frost looks more feathery, brighter and you can see the crystal formations. Frozen dew is solid and does not have quite the white appearance as frost.

Cerkev sv. Tomaža (Church of Saint Thomas) at Gorenji Vrsnik, Slovania.
There are many beautiful churches in Slovenia, many on hills and even many dedicated to the Saint Thomas, but this one is located at Gorenji Vrsnik.

Statue of Saint Thomas at the Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Basilica in Santhome, in Chennai, India -- built in the 16th century over the supposed tomb of St Thomas, an apostle of Jesus.

Well decorated cathedral
It was early January, the church still had all its Christmas decorations. A wedding was also scheduled that evening, there were floral wreaths placed at the end of the benches.
You can note that in India, we take off our shoes to enter a church, same as if we enter the enclosure of a Hindu temple.

Cathédrale Saint-Thomas / Saint Thomas Cathedral - Chennaï - Tamil Nadu
St. Thomas, by Pierre Le Gros. Nave of the Basilica of St. John Lateran, Rome.
One of the twelve apostles of Jesus, according to the New Testament. Thomas is informally referred to as "Doubting Thomas" because he doubted Jesus' resurrection when first told (in the Gospel of John account only), followed later by his confession of faith, "My Lord and my God," on seeing Jesus' wounded body.
Pierre Le Gros (1666-1719) was a French sculptor, active almost exclusively in Baroque Rome.

A band of rain showers passes over Charlotte Amalie, the historical capital of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Aboard the ship seen on the left side of the photo, "the jailer man and sailor Sam were searching everyone." FYI the searchers never did find any band members ... and I doubt they found any virgins :) Thanks for viewing!

This winding path seems to lead to another world and another season..as if the spring blossoms are waiting on the other end.

Trunk Bay is frequently rated as the most beautiful beach in the world, but to me also the most romantic beach. With sparkling soft white sands, crystal clear turquoise and indigo blue water, tropical corals teeming with fish, sounds of gentle waves and rustle of coconut palms, this untouched natural beauty with stunning view forms an exquisite setting to relax and play.
The beach has two sweeping sections that join to form a perfect shape of heart, a symbol of love and romance.
One can see a strong visual line of beach that seems to form a heart shape。

The forest floor was on a steep hill so some of the trees were standing straight while others appeared leaning at an angle. Also, since the trees were so tall, I used the vertorama technique to stitch multiple photos to create a single image that capture the wider angle view.
