Aurora (Russian: Авро́ра, tr. Avrora; IPA: [ɐˈvrorə]) is a 1900 Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship in St. Petersburg. Aurora was one of three Pallada-class cruisers, built in St. Petersburg for service in the Pacific. All three ships of this class served during the Russo-Japanese War. Aurora survived the Battle of Tsushima and was interned under US protection in the Philippines, eventually returned to the Baltic Fleet. The second ship, Pallada, was sunk by the Japanese at Port Arthur in 1904. The third ship, Diana, was interned in Saigon after the Battle of the Yellow Sea. One of the first incidents of the October Revolution in Russia took place on the cruiser Aurora.

7 shot HDR with a lot of clean up work done in photoshop. Not one of my favorite Photoshop merges, but I did enjoy the practice working with multiple photos.
I also find it amusing how empty the park looks in this photo even though it was full of people. I guess the 10-30 second exposures wiped them all out. :P

I was up in St. Paul this week on a business trip. The venue for the conference I was speaking at was only 1 miles from the Minnesota State Capitol so I dragged the DSLR and tripod along with me and was fortunate enough to have an hour in the building shooting pictures. It's a very impressive building and extremely different from the Texas Capitol. This is a shot looking up at the roof of the dome. I couldn't centre this properly since the central point is roped off so this isn't quite as symmetrical as I would have liked.
This was taken with the D700 and 14-24mm lens and is an HDR comprising 8 shots spaced by 1 stop each.
I would greatly appreciate your vote in the 2010 Photoblog Awards. Thanks!
