Le château de Fontaine-lès-Dijon date du XIe siècle , situé près de Dijon en Côte-d'Or (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté). Le château et l'église accolée ont été bâtis en 1090 sur le lieu de naissance de Bernard de Clairvaux (Bernard de Fontaine). Une basilique du XIXe siècle, a été accolée au château.

Château du XIII° siècle au bord de la Saône, connu pour avoir abrité au début du siècle les peintres Utrillo, Utter et Suzanne Valadon. (de 1923 à 1948) Ces peintres ont fixé, sur nombre de leurs toiles, les aspects les plus pittoresques de cette maison forte du XIII° siècle.
C'est un remarquable exemple d'architecture militaire dont les murs sont faits de briques et de pierres disposées en couches alternées.

Environ une centaine d’abbayes monastiques conservent des activités en France. La production agricole, la confection de produits alimentaires (confitures, boissons, fromages…) ou cosmétiques, les visites touristiques, les librairies… sont quelques-unes parmi les activités qui les font vivre.
L’abbaye cistercienne de l’Escaladieu (65) a été établie dans le vallon de l’Arros, au bord de la rivière, pour servir de halte (escaladieu, escale vers Dieu) aux pèlerins se rendant à Compostelle. Un hôpital de pèlerins y avait été fondé, puis un deuxième au XIIIème siècle. On pense que St. Bernard lui-même, lorsqu’il est venu prêcher la deuxième croisade, a certainement séjourné dans l’Abbaye. En mai 1997, elle devient propriété du Conseil général qui développe un programme de restauration à long terme ; ce joyau de l'architecture cistercienne entre ainsi dans le domaine public. D'autre part, l'abbaye de l'Escaladieu devient, au travers d'un programme d'animations variées (concerts, expositions, conférences, théâtre...), un lieu culturel agréable et vivant dans lequel chacun s'attardera avec plaisir.

Ce vitrail nous montre sainte Aleth de Montbard, conduisant son fils saint Bernard à l'école des chanoines de Saint-Vorles.
Lorsque sa mère le portait en son sein, dit son hagiographie, elle eut un songe dans lequel elle se voyait accoucher d'un petit chien blanc sur tout le corps, à l'exception du dos qui tirait sur le roux; il aboyait déjà très clairement. Un bon religieux, à qui elle avait demandé l'interprétation de ce songe, lui révéla que celui à qui elle donnerait naissance serait un excellent chien de garde, aboyant puissamment contre les ennemis de la maison de Dieu. D'autres interprètes découvrirent plus tard que la blancheur de tout son corps figurait la pureté et la fidélité de son zèle pour l'Église et pour ses défenseurs; mais le roux : les hérissements, les aboiements et les morsures pour les adversaires.

Nel lontano 1970 nei dintorni di Falcade mia sorella incontra un socievole San Bernardo
Back in 1970 in the surroundings of Falcade my sister met a sociable St. Bernard dog.
Last year I had already been to Col du Grand Saint Bernard and decided to come back to catch these great reflections in the lake. As I knew the conditions up there at 2469 meters I stood up very early to get to the pass as long as the wind is still very calm and the surface of the lake is the perfect natural mirror. This time I was lucky and it worked out. But I still have to come again as I would also love to have some clouds reflected in the lake. Col du Saint Bernard is a historic place where already Napoleon lost a lot of his troops. The pass got its name from Bernard de Aoste who founded the hospice on the Swiss side of the pass in 1050. Actually the pass marks the border between Switzerland in the north and The Aosta Valley of Italy in the south. The pass is also famous for its Saint Bernard dog breed, which got world famous because of Barry who saved the life of more than 40 humans during his lifetime...and of course Joseph from the Heidi movie.
