Jag var tvungen att stå "över" min kamera för att skydda den från regnet när jag tog det här kortet. Tror jag såg väldigt konstig ut om nån tittade på mig. En dag ska jag kommer ihåg en paraply!

Just before Christmas 2023 we had storm Gerrit, named after the well known weatherman Gerrit Hiemstra. The aftermath of the storm gave some great clouds.

A small correction. This bunker stands near the river Lek, a few kilometers north of the given coordinates.

Juniperus brevifolia, a juniper species endemic to the Azores, grows near Lagoa do Capitão on the island of Pico. This juniper is endangered due to habitat loss throughout the archipelago. At Lagoa do Capitão, the tree's twisted, branching form adds a magical atmosphere to area around the lake. The small, shallow lake fills a sag along a northwest-southeast trending fault in the São Roque-Piedade Volcanic Complex on Pico's eastern end.

Nördlich von Rüdesheim an der rechten Rheinstrecke (KBS 466) kann man von der Bergseite den Blick auf das sogn "Binger Loch", der weltberühmten engen frei gesprengten Fahrrinne für die Binnenschiffe im Rhein, den Blick auf den sogn. Mäuseturm, der seinen Namen einer Sage zu verdanken hat, umsetzen:

Kurz nach Sonnaufgang gibt es ein Zeitfenster von ca. 30 Minuten um die südgehenden Züge hier perfekt ins Bild zu rücken.

Schon weit vor Sonnenaufgang am 27.Mai 2023 hatte ich den Bewuchs auf der Mauer gestutzt, eine dornige Angelegenheit, und die Leiter aufgebaut und das Stativ mit Fernauslöser oben aufgestellt und dann musste ich warten:

Der nächste interessante Güterzug gen Süden folgte dann im Blockabstand und das war dann der fotogene DGS 41823 von Rail Cargo Carrier mit der recht sauberen 1116 126 der ÖBB auf dem Fahrt von Rheinhausen nach Ljubljana Moste in Slowenien.

Seit 30. August 2013 bereits bietet die Rail Cargo Group der ÖBB einen Intermodal-Zug zwischen dem Terminal Duisburg Rheinhausen DKT und dem Terminal Ljubljana Moste an.

Seit 2015 werden die KLV Züge von und nach Rheinhausen von Rail Cargo Austria selber mit 1116 der Muttergeselschaft ÖBB unter dem Produktnamen Rail Cargo Carrier bespannt.

Als Ende 2016 die letzten 140er und 139er der DBC aus dem aktiven Betrieb gingen, hatte ich schon fast die Hoffnung verloren eine im Verkehrsrotem Design lackierte 139/140 zu erwischen.

140 850 war eine leise Hoffnung, aber ehe sie in metallic grün umlackiert wurde, war der Lackzustand mehr als miserabel. Der DB Keks war leider schon entfernt. Dazu kam, dass immer wenn ich diese Lok antraf, die 140 456 in der Doppeltraktion vorne hing...

Um so erfreulicher war die Nachricht, dass die 139 309 der Bayernbahn am 15. Juli 2020 einen Kesselzug durch das Filstal bespannen sollte.

Auf die Lauer legten wir uns dann in Kuchen, wo später dann noch 113 309 mit einer n-Wagenüberführung vorbei kam.

BNSF SD70ACe No. 8459 leads another SD70ACe on this southbound load coal train as it negotiates through the "sag" at Spruce, Colorado, on February 10, 2019. The flyover where the Santa Fe flew over the Rio Grande below can be seen in the background on the right.

This is another porch built by the dynamic duo, Earl and Daryl. These homeowners wanted a glassed-in porch. I can’t figure out if the porch is a foot deep or if the boys just knocked out the front wall and slapped the glass in its place. It is obvious that Daryl lost the level again because there is a definite sag in the middle. This is another house with the well placed strategically in front of the door. It would be a tripping hazard if there were actually steps to get in and out of the house. I know there is a trailer parked in the carport, but I still think this house is abandoned. HWW

Kvarn och såg på 1500-talet

Ålgårds kvarn och såg finns omnämnd i den äldsta bevarade skattelängden för Norge, den så kallade gengärden från 1528. Där nämns ”Moghens på Aalgaard”. Samma Moghens betalade 1542 en tunna ål och tre tunnor mjöl i skatt, enligt den äldsta bevarade jordeboken, från ca 1542. Samma skatt betalas senare under 1500-talet av både Nils och Olof på Ålgård.

Både kvarn och såg nämns 1594 i den norska biskopen Jens Nilssöns visitatsböcker och reiseoptegnelser. Enligt texten är en såg nyss byggd, den enda sågen på Orust.

Sagging my Bulldog shorts!

A southbound loaded coal train dips through a sag near Lorenzo, NE. In just a few seconds, the train will pass into Colorado. What I would've done to get those first 15 or so ratty looking hoppers out of there. With the new power, and brand new BNSF hoppers trailing, can you say 'publicity shot'?

Cette sculpture fait partie d'un ensemble dénommé "les Saisons et la Prudence". C'est une des pièces des chapiteaux romans du choeur de Cluny III (12ème siècle) conservés dans le Farinier de Cluny.

With its sumptuous draped dress, the quiet figure of this woman appears full of serenity and wisdom.

This sculpture belongs to a series called "Seasons and Prudence". It is one of the pieces among the Romanesque capitals from Cluny IIIth choir (12th century) kept in Cluny's "Farinier" (floor granary).
