The Scottish Municipal Annual was issued 'under the patronage' of various Scottish local government associations and institutions and it was aimed to increase knowledge as to the 'special features, civic and industrial, of the ancient Burghs and Counties of Scotland'. It lists many councils, government agencies and other institutions and carries numerous advertisements for companies associated with municipal 'requirements' such as building materials, professional services, manufacturers and suppliers.
In this, the 1951 edition, an advert for one of the service companies - J & D Hamilton of Duart St, Glasgow who manufactured road and kerb marking paints. The products are illustrated by this fine photo of three men painting white lines in a very traditional fashion with paint, brushes and pots! It is fair to say that gone are the days when HSE could be managed by way of some 'keep left' flags held in place with rocks!
A lesson to be learnt in health and safety here. This cherry picker did not slow down.

Installation at monastery "Nuestra Señora de Montalegre" in Teià (Spain): Lifelines Securope on posts were installed on the roofs of the emblematic building of the fifteenth century for restoration subsequent works. The posts have been chemically fixed where the structure of rocks had the right thickness, and the others have plywood to a solid structural wood columns of the building. The installation was carried out by Global Vertical.
