This art piece quite surprised and amused me after I was able to process the whole image in my head!!!! I couldn’t find the description for it, but I think it describes the human nature and its consequences very very nicely!!

Mari Boine Persen est une chanteuse norvégienne d'origine saami, née au Finnmark. Mari a reçu de ses parents une éducation chrétienne très stricte qui bannissait toute tradition saami, y compris le chant traditionnel, en raison de ses liens avec le chamanisme. Une manifestation contre la construction d'une centrale électrique en territoire lapon lui fait soudain prendre conscience de son identité ethnique saami, que son éducation avait refoulée. Dès lors, bien décidée à retrouver ses racines culturelles, Mari commence à écrire ses textes et à les chanter... Sa musique associe le chant traditionnel des Saami, le joik, avec des sons et des mélodies électro-acoustiques. Mari Boine Persen a su relever le défi de la reconnaissance et de la renaissance culturelle en valorisant ses origines à travers des textes de chansons particulièrement engagés et une alchimie harmonieuse entre plusieurs sources d'inspirations.

At the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This sculpture is called "Nenuphar", Sanskrit word for lotus or water lily.
Silly me, I had thought this was at a different museum in D.C. And there are many. No wonder I couldn't find its title and description.
This art installation is titled "Information Superhighway". You're seeing the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii are out of view. There are tv screens within the border of each state showing images related to it.
I think I recorded this correctly. The art in this room is entitled "Space" and was done by Alma Thomas. Per the info plate "she was born at the end of the ninetheen century--in the 'horse and buggy days'." She fell in love with NASA and our space program, from which these paintings evolved.

The new Damen 2312 tug is named after respected Musqueam Point Family Patriarch, James Point. Born shortly after confederation, he was a fisherman, who worked the Fraser River, and up and down the coast. He was a well know lacrosse player in his youth.
Featuring an innovative DAMEN ASD2312 design, this tug was acquired from the Dutch company DAMEN and built at its Song Cam shipyards in Vietnam. Measuring 23 meters long and 12 meters in beam, it boasts 70-bollard pull capacity, Kongsberg azimuth thrusters and two CAT 3512C IMO Tier III main engines, which enables it to operate in emissions control areas (ECA) since it meets standards from the International Maritime Organization for nitrogen and sulfur oxide emissions.

This is Gabriel Dawe's Plexus A1 at the Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC. Using thread, wood, hooks and steel, and light, the creation resembles a rainbow. It is genuinely ethereal.
Located at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong rivers in Southeast Asia, "The Golden Triangle" is the meeting point for the borders of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

Echelman's woven sculpture corresponds to a map of the energy released across the Pacific Ocean during the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, one of the most devastating natural disasters in recorded history. The event was so powerful it shifted the earth on its axis and shortened the day, March 11, 2011 by 1.8 millionths of a second, lending this work its title. Waves longer than the 100-foot length of this gallery ravaged the east coast of Japan, reminding us that what is wondrous can equally be dangerous.

This is Undine; carved by Chauncey Bradley Ives. It was modeled ca. 1880, carved 1884, out of marble. The details of her dress, and the very much realistic effect of the wet dress as she was rising from the sea, is breathtaking. So much talent went into this sculpture which is exhibited at Smithsonian American Art Museum, in Washington DC.

It includes what was originally St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul also known as "Mater Dei", a 17th-century Portuguese church dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. Today, the ruins are one of Macau's best known landmarks. They are often, but incorrectly, mentioned as a former cathedral (see Macau Cathedral), a status they never had. In 2005, they were officially listed as part of the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site.
Built from 1602 to 1640[1] by the Jesuits, the church is one of the largest Catholic churches in Asia at the time.
