Delicate

This is Undine; carved by Chauncey Bradley Ives. It was modeled ca. 1880, carved 1884, out of marble. The details of her dress, and the very much realistic effect of the wet dress as she was rising from the sea, is breathtaking. So much talent went into this sculpture which is exhibited at Smithsonian American Art Museum, in Washington DC.
