High Intensity Discharge lighting is light from a plasma discharge rather than a filament. The system involves a combined igniters and ballast to start the light and maintain the current and certain gases and metal salts to create the light. Waterproof, Dustproof, Rustproof. HID lights have been shown to contribute to driving safety, studies have demonstrated that drivers react faster and more accurately to obstacles with HID lights rather than halogen ones. We have stayed away from the really cheap rubbish that you can buy but have also stayed away from the named brand as they are exactly the same as what we sell. The bikes below are fittings that we have done from all 4 lights on a BMW R1200GS Adventure to a BMW GT. H.I.D Conversion Kits provide more than 300 percent more light than a Halogen bulb. The clear white light produced by H.I.D Conversion Kits is similar to daylight, reflecting road markings and signs better than conventional lighting.
In general, HID bulbs are able to take a lot more punishment than standard filament halogen bulbs. Why? Several reasons. Firstly because they do not run as hot as halogen bulbs (because HID is a more efficient system for turning electrical energy into light, it wastes much less as heat). Without the superheated glass that you get on a halogen bulb, you don’t get the propensity to shatter or explode that halogen bulbs have if any dirt or finger grease gets on the glass. Secondly, consider how a halogen bulb works. A fine strand of tungsten wire is superheated to 3200 degrees, so hot that the metal glows white (or nearly white). As a motorcycle rides over rough roads, this glowing hot wire is vibrated constantly, until it breaks. With a HID bulb, there is no wire filament. The light is created by a glowing arc between two electrodes. There is no ultrafine, superheated wire to overheat or to vibrate apart.

I recently chopped this C240 for an E320,the 240 was a nice car,
It had done 153k miles,not that much but I felt it was getting tired,seats were cloth and worn,biggest problem with both is cars is inability to rustproof bodyshells,primer them and paint them without issues,have a look at 98/2002 cars,round the wheel arches,rust,tailgate rust,bonnet edges rust,the E320 was with all its extras around £50000,so poor after sales service in surveys plus rust AND RUST

One of Rover's most useful cars if only they rustproofed them. With the gutsy and responsive Perkins Prima Turbodiesel lump and mated to a Honda designed gearbox, it was an excellent combination.
This example used to be my parents car, i took over ownership in 2006 when it was surplus to requirements. Purchased as a write off due to sill and door damage for £95! It had only covered around 90k which is barely run in. It did need a headgasket due to corrosion but once this was sorted it was faultless like my previous monty.
After the repairs i replaced the rear arches and rear bumper and it was starting to look very respectable indeed. Sadly, it came to an end in July 2007 when it was side swiped by a Seat Ibiza. It could have been repaired, but lack of time, the tools for the job and where i lived meant i broke it for spares and kept the insurance money after i bought it back.
