I first saw Rusted Root play at the Boat House in Norfolk, VA, one of my favorite small venues. I later saw them in Richmond, Virginia, and then at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, and now twice at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh.

They play an eclectic blend of world inspired Rock that is heavy on percussion and non-traditional instruments. Their music is frenetic and entrancing and just a whole lot of fun with power and raw emotion thrown in for good measure.

Each of their independent acts is worth catching, but together they are an amazing band.

I stumbled upon a whole mess of what appeared to be old, rusted air ducts. At first I didn't give this find much thought. But I stuck around and came up with this shot. It is the corner of one of the air ducts framing the other rusted piece of duct behind it.

Garnet is a ghost town near Butte, Montana and these are some rusted can preserved from it's boom town days.

To get to this ghost town I drove up this narrow dirt road on a steep hill for about a hour without any real knowledge that this ghost town actually existed.
