MacroMonday theme

Not hard to find subjects for macros on this theme - in a wet climate like here, rust is all around.

This is on the base of a fire pit - bolt connecting the bowl and leg of the firepit.

It lives outside ...but looking at this. maybe it would have fared better in the garage over the winter!

Echo & The Bunnymen - Rust

This is an iron decoration attached to a single flower vase.

The part shown in the photo is approximately 5 cm in total.

I took a photo of the rusted part at pedestal.

During my buddy Harvey's recent visit, I gave him a serious dose of historic gold mining sites with a side order of blacksmiths. Harv was continually on the lookout for that elusive 5 lb. gold nugget. Alas, he was sorely out of luck on that count, however he did get a nice exposure to rust. What do you expect from 19th century historical mining sites? More on those blacksmiths later.

Happy May Day everyone.

rusting old truck in Johnson City, Texas

I was out doing an errand yesterday and came across this old truck. I didn't have my camera with me but I had my phone so I took some pictures with what I had I'm very happy with that I got!

Not sure what these are, standing alongside a walking trail through the dunes.

This is a close-up photo of rust patterns on an iron panel on the wharf at Port Maitland Beach.

In the port you can find lots of rust, on ships and piles of scaffolding. This picture I took in the harbour of Helgoland on one of the piles. I love the structures the rust makes on surfaces and creates art in a way.

Thanks for taking time to fave, comment and look at my work. I really appreciate.

Metal ring of diameter of 2,2cm.

Have a great week, my friends!

HMM!

The table is falling to pieces.

I think it's quite pretty.

Delicious rust colours

so beautifully authentic.

Rich and deep

but not for long.

I keep finding new bits

on the deck.

I rubbed some into

a white canvas.

They made a nice

deep red hue.

The start of

something new.

I've also mended a bunch of socks.

Just as iron rusts from disuse...

even so does inaction spoil the intellect.
