Actually, most of Idaho is rural. Looking at my map, this looks to be part of the Sawtooth Wilderness region of Idaho. Between Stanley and Sun Valley is what I've been told. (Idaho Road Trip Vacation 957.jpg)

Veel trambedrijven hadden uitlopers naar de buitenwijken. Sommige tramlijnen liepen zelfs nog verder door landelijke omgeving naar een naburig dorp of een buiten de stad gelegen spoorwegstation.
Motorwagen 846 van het voormalige trambedrijf van Milwaukee (Wisconsin) geeft die sfeer goed weer. Het plaatje is gemaakt bij de halte met de passende naam "Elegant Farmer" in Mukwonago langs de museumlijn van de East Troy Railroad.
De vierasser uit 1920 is gebouwd door de St Louis Car Company. Reeds in 1925 is de tram aangepast voor eenmansbediening.

This scene had so many of the elements of the "typical English countryside" that my first reaction was that it was a "same as" - "seen it before" shot. Nevertheless, I found it quite a pleasing view. When I looked at it more closely, I realised that it is quite full of diagonals, or zig-zag lines - in the shadows in the field - the slope of the ground - a line joining the cows - the lines in the landscape behind ... seems to bind it all together somehow.
