for you to see beauty here
does not mean
there is beauty in me
it means there is beauty rooted
so deep within you
you can't help but
see it everywhere

Quote by Rupi Kaur to accompany the B&W version of the first picture i ever posted on Flickr, about 1 year ago...

I came here because i liked photography as a way to frame memories and as the exceptional art to paint with light.
I hoped to find inspiration ... which i found and keep on finding here every day.
I never thought i would find friendship here, an untouchable kind of connection with some beautiful souls sharing their wonderful work, but i found that too, because photography is also a beautiful way to express feelings and thoughts!
Thank you ... you all deserve to be completely found in your surroundings!
Always stand up against injustice. Diversity is beautiful.
Poem by Rupi Kaur, whose poetry really is very self affirming especially for women.
My thoughts are with all of the beautiful souls and the families of those who perished in NZ at the hands of yet another white extremist. It a travesty that we live in a world where people aren't even able to pray safely.

I don't know what living a balanced life feels like
when i am sad
I don't cry I pour
when i am happy
I don't smile I glow
when i am angry
I don't yell i burn
The good thing about feelin in extremes is
when i love i give them wings
but perhaps that isn't
such a good thing cause
they always tend to leave
and you should see me
when my heart is broken
I don't grieve
I shatter
Rupi Kaur
I struggle so deeply
to understand
how someone can
pour their entire soul
blood and energy
into someone
without wanting
anything in
return.
I will have to wait till I'm a mother.

Every woman should recognise the power within herself, we were born to be Queens after all.
what’s the greatest lesson a woman should learn?
that since day one. she’s already had everything
she needs within herself. it’s the world that
convinced her she did not.

This will be the last photo on my pro account unless I decide to upload another one later today to make a round figure. I will probably open another free account so I can continue posting photos for Macro Mondays, Croque Nature, Utata, etc.
I forgot to include Elisa Shua Dusapin: l'hiver à Sochko, so that means 8 books, 4 in French.

"i bleed each month to help make humankind a possibility. my womb is home to the divine. a source of life for our species. whether i choose to create or not. but very few times it is seen that way. in older civilizations this blood was considered holy. in some it still is. but a majority of people. societies. and communities shun this natural process. some are more comfortable with the pornification of women. the sexualization of women. the violence and degradation of women than this. they cannot be bothered to express their disgust about all that. but will be angered and bothered by this. we menstruate and they see it as dirty. attention seeking. sick. a burden. as if this process is less natural than breathing. as if it is not a bridge between this universe and the last. as if this process is not love. labour. life. selfless and strikingly beautiful." - Rupi Kaur.

I had had Rupi Kaur on my tbr radar for a long time and decided before the New Year I would check it out from the library. WOAH... I can't decide between devouring or savoring the pages. I sat and read 90+ pages and had to put it down. This can't be over. I can't express how December has shown this very poem to me in my own life. This month has a writer's high waiting to puke on the page. It is going to hurt. I am so ready for life to even out "some" so my mind will calm enough to let me write more.
