Moby as had quite the busy week. The treat lady's grandog, Fred is visiting from West Virginia. Fred is a 1 year old Australian terrierX. He is a bundle of wild energy and Moby is ecstatic to have a playmate. When we go over to Rose's cabin, Moby and Fred tear back and forth through the house or end up just wrestling. Taking them across the street to our fenced in yard is a challenge as Fred is hard for Rose to control as he keeps charging to catch up to Moby. if we try to walk them together they just keep wrestling. Rose finally just picked up Fred today to get him into the yard. Rose is 86...
These two run and run and run. Then they collapse for a few minutes before they are up and running again.
I have to let Moby decompress and stop panting before I can give him his breakfast.
Moby is really going to miss this little terror when he leaves. Peter calls him Buddy the bullet. He is one fast dude and often tries to grab Moby's leg to bring him down as is his nature.
There are many photos of these two in my photo stream. They are a joy to watch.
Well Simon has been such a good boy this week, He has gone for a number of "long runs" with me and has been so patient. Im so much slower than what he needs but we are getting out there working hard. I tell ya that boy can go. We come home after nearly 2 hours and he looks like nothing ever happened. Me? IM tired as hell. I have to remember that even though it doesnt look like he did anything he got a good amount of exercise on these runs, I just might get to my goal with his help after all.
Today, Miles and I went for our very first run together. It was a momentous occasion, and one I've been patiently awaiting. Labs are susceptible to hip troubles, so it's recommended to hold off on running with them until they're at least 18 months and their hips are fully developed.
He was such a good boy - there were certainly highs (when we fell into pace with each other) and lows (the four times he stopped to pee as well as some other business, which I had to carry for a quarter mile!), but I think he'll make a good running buddy after all.
This picture was right after we returned home and had a treat celebration.
(Oh, this was my first non-treadmill run since October. How I missed running outside!)
