Ford Transit, San Diego. Supporting a cure for breast cancer. I like the white painted steelies on this. Better than the plasticky wheel covers they come with IMHO. Though these wheels look pretty small; lots of unfilled wheel well.

Join me in working for a cure!

I don't run much and it's hard to do a selfie while running. I don't own anything pink, sorry friends, maybe I'm not that comfortable with my manhood, but I totally support the tireless efforts of those searching for a cure for breast cancer and my dear friend emeraldgeal has been organizing the Run for the Cure in New Brunswick, Canada for 9 nine years so while talking to her last week we decided to celebrate the culmination of her hard work that we should take a jump shot 3,000 miles apart, but at exactly the same time. I gotta tell you, jumping at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning is not my first choice but anything for a jumpshot, anything for my friend Niki and anything to promote the success of finding a cure for that terrible disease, and to support the lovely people who battle it.

Good work Niki!! This one's for you :)

Hi- I have been taking pictures of my friends in Run for the Cure for many years and with each year's passing the emotion and passion of the event grows stronger from Team Bosom and all participants. Each picture I take is a reminder of the women who fight and have fought this disease. I was in my early 30's and Penny wasn't much older. Her courage, warmth and amazing positive attitude has been forever etched into my life. With every tear there is a smile because with the pain there are many triumphant stories. So, each time I click the camera I think of Penny to capture the courage and passion.

It has been suggested this year that I participate in the event and Run for the Cure. I have always wanted to participate but as a daughter of a former JR BC running champion, and sporting good store owner ,my competitive nature makes me hesitate. "Do you know how hard it is to run with a camera?"

Well my friends have made me realize that I can experience it all. So with camera around my neck and perhaps my trusty German Shepherd by my side, I will walk through the crowds on my own journey. Penny lost her battle with cancer but with your help I can capture the moments of others and through participation not competition and I can bring those moments to everyone.

Gearing up for tomorrow's Run For the Cure.

We try to participate as best we could. It's been almost 10 years now that we try to run every October. The past year has been very significant as a dear friend has been diagnosed. We try whatever way we can to help her fight the battle.

And guess who wore the hat so I can take a pic of it.

Mine, both the hat and the one wearing it :)

today i did the run for the cure in toronto with 30,000 people. as always, it was an emotional experience seeing young kids with shirts that say they're running for their mommy or mothers walking alongside their daughters, who were sporting pink survivor tShirts.

this year i ran for my grandmother (who survived breast cancer many years ago) and a girl in halifax whose breast cancer spread to her lungs. she's only 31 years old and has four kids at home. absolutely breaks my heart.

i raised $600 this year with a lot of help from my friends and family. i couldn't have done it without all of you. thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

together we will find a cure.

It was a little difficult this year to take pics of my friends because 1) I was in the walk and 2) I dislocated my shoulder a couple days before the run so I had to do the run with a pink sling! I had to use my little point and shoot camera and one handed shooting. some of the pics turned out OK though! walk on the wild side 2011 P1270918

Each of them has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer. Statistically, one will feel a lump and be investigated for breast cancer.
