It seems that there is a chance of one in over a million of being dealt a royal flush, and that's without the nine even.....I know that during lockdown, i played over a mere thousand games of Connect Four (we kept slash marks for each game) with one of my sons and managed to win about 1/4 of them. In my defense, he is an ace at game strategy ::))

**I am culling contacts since I am sitting around a lot. I probably made mistakes. I get rummy after a bit.
The gorgeous man pictured here was my brother, Danny. He was the single strongest influence on everything in my life...
And I couldn't have asked for a better brother/father figure/rummy partner/ friend.
I miss him every day.
Bonus points: this was the upload that made me realize keywords in capture one become tags in Flickr - Yay!

This is Leatherhead Town Bridge at the bottom of Bridge Street and is part of the Leatherhead Heritage Trail . Just off shot to the left is the Running Horse pub , a very old pub indeed --
The story of The Running Horse dates back to 1403, when the pub was built on land belonging to the church.
Known once as Rummyings House, it served 'noppy ale' by the infamous Elynour Rummyng, who featured in a poem 'The Tunnying of Elynour Rummying' by John Skelton, Henry VIII's Poet Laureate. Verses are still displayed on the pub’s walls.
Legend has it that Elizabeth I once spent a night at The Running Horse when floods made it impossible to cross the River Mole.

Public road bridge over River Mole. Probably later medieval, rebuilt and enlarged in 1782-3 by George Gwilt (the county surveyor), and dated 1784 on south side. Red brick in Flemish bond, with some dressings of Portland stone. It is a long low structure of 14 segmental arches on low piers with triangular cutwaters which have semi-pyramidal tops of dressed stone, a roundel in each spandrel, a moulded stone band, and a high brick parapet to the south side with flat stone coping secured by wrought-iron cramps, incorporating 4 semicircular refuges; and in the centre of the outer side a stone plaque lettered "BUILT 1784". Lighting now replaced with reproduction windsor lighting. Parapets rebuilt in 1988.

At Rummy's Freight and Repair...
"Ring Rummy's Wrecker." A phrase heard more than once on the streets and roads of Paprihaven.
Though there are other towing and repair services available, none have built the dependable reputation as Rummy's.
And Rummy himself would attest that there couldn't be a more dependable wrecker than his 1980 Land Rover.
A bit dinged and dented itself, for one can hardly navigate the world of wrecks without absorbing some calamity as well, the wrecker has towed more cars than Rummy can count. Whether pulling the hapless vehicle out of a gully or across a median, we reckon this wrecker is great at wreckin.

Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven. At Rummy's Freight and Repair,* a rather large job has come in.
Rummy: Isn't that one of Quadstar's armored rigs?
Marty: Ayup. We ain't gonna fit this one in the shop.
Rummy: Phew! We even able to jack it or we need the crane over there?
Marty: I think we kin jack it. We'll see. Reinforced steel, bulletproof glass, solid tires... this is a hefty fella.
Rummy: Wonder if they left any money it.
Marty: Well you notice they didn't bring the trailer.
Rummy: Hah! I guess we'll get their money after we fix it.

14 arches that is -
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 09/10/2021 -----
Repetition .
The design of the bridge has 14 arches repeating for the whole span , trouble is whichever side of the river and whichever side of the bridge I stood , I could not get all of the arches in one shot - mainly due to foliage ! At one corner I might have got a few more in but with the river running high like it is and the steep bank with nothing to hold onto - no chance , even for SSC !!

Monday night cruising in Paprihaven at Rummy's Freight and Repair as deliveries arrive. Rummy and Marty are a bit bemused.
Allo, Rummy! I ave yer shipment ere, I do!
Tom, why are you talking like that? And why are you driving a horse and carriage!
Oy, Rummy! Oy, Marty! Right here with your order of filters! A jolly good load, too!

Tis a joyous Christmas, wouldn't you say? So festive!

A unique way to cover up a cast...
This took me 2 hours to upload to flickr because my internet was a douche bag.
Today I went to a family party from 1:00pm until 9:30ish pm.
It was actually super fun!
My aunt and uncle just moved into a new house, so we were having a house warming party. Also my other uncle and aunt and their 2 kinds just came from Romanian, but they're moving to Cali.
I played Rummy for about 4 or 5 hours straight. I'm basically pro.
I also took everyone's family photos... That's over 50 people...
Have a good night Flickr, tomorrow's my first day of school since my accident :/
P.S. I think I have whip lash.
Elle va me manquer.

My grandmother died this morning. This photo is for her, the strongest, fiercest woman I ever knew. She had a razor-sharp intelligence, a powerful memory, and when she was young she resembled Katherine Hepburn. Beauty and strength, that was her. She taught me to love gardening, to play gin rummy, and to play scrabble. She will be missed.
These are pieces from a rummy game. They are on a Lego baseplate.
The pieces are small, about 1 inch height.
This is my dog, Rummy, who often sleeps at my feet -- curled up in a little ball, in his own little bed.
Note: I chose this as my "photo of the day" for Dec 13, 2015.
Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven. At Rummy's Freight and Repair, Rummy has come home again with one of his "barn finds".
"Yeah, when I saw this old warhorse, I couldn't pass it up. I think we can really get'er running again, Marty. What do you think?"
*sigh* "Rummy, we're backed up now with paying customers. You know, work that's profitable?"
"Yeah, I know, those take priority, we could just work this in between. Right, AJ?"
"Chassis' solid underneath. Not much rust that I can see. But, I dunno Rummy. Every time you say we can 'work it in between', but then you keep asking us every day how its progressing. This is an after-hours job, and we're already working overtime."
"Alright, alright, whatever we need to get it done. She's gonna be a beaut! Lookit that Standard Oil logo! Man, that's pristine! Those guys at the Chevron across the street'll pro'bly want us ta park it out front! Hey, Buddy, good, get those tools over here for Marty to have an initial look."

A modified worker mech alleged to be piloted by none other than “Invincible” Rummy - from an alternate timeline where he got into rehab and left his life of crime to become a beekeeper. Don't know what he needs the giant rocket launcher for, but hey
"They said rehab wouldn’t fix him. They were mostly right."
"Rummy claims the launcher is for pests. The neighborhood disputes this."
"Bringing peace and pollination with just a hint of explosive overkill."
"The ultimate beekeeper's tool—if your bees are the size of small aircraft."
"Retirement goals: raise bees, farm honey, test and compare explosive compounds in their armor penetrating capabilities. Rummy's closer than he should be."
"No one understands the rockets. Not even Rummy. Especially not Rummy."
This rooster is a familiar sight for many old Hongkongers, belonging to a chain Mahjong* Club established in 1930. This shop at Temple street is the pioneer branch.
Temple Street (廟街) is a street located in the areas of Jordan and Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is known for its night market and as one of the busiest flea markets at night in the territory.
The night market lies in the Yau Ma Tei, Jordan part of the street. Popular with tourists and locals alike in the evening, it is also common to see the place crowded at dusk. It sells cheap merchandise and food items.
The place is sometimes known as "Men's Street".
* Mahjong is commonly played by four players. Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. It is also known as the "National game" in Hong Kong

Buddy: Aw, this is a mess! Transaxle was busted who knows when... it's got water and gook all in it.
AJ: Looks like the axle is bent too.
Buddy: Don't doubt it, the way they run this thing. We're gonna have to tear out the whole front end.
Rummy: In and out, fellas! Do whatcha gotta do, but get it done quick. And get it in the garage. We've got freight comin' in in about 30 minutes.
Buddy: You ever think about hirin' more people, Rummy?
Rummy: Yeah, and then I think about bein able to retire early, so I don't.

There are three very similar species which are all known as rummy nose tetras:
Hemigrammus rhodostomus (The True Rummy Nose Tetra)
Hemigrammus bleheri (Also known as The Brilliant Rummy Nose Tetra or The Common Rummy Nose Tetra)
Petitella georgiae (The False Rummy Nose Tetra).
I am guessing its the former.
The rummy-nose tetra is a species of tropical freshwater characin fish originating in South America, popular among fishkeepers as an aquarium fish. One of many small tetras belonging to the same genus, it is on average 5 cm long when fully grown, and is a long established favourite among tropical fishkeepers.

Marty: Or, what's left of one.
Buddy: It's a classic!
Rummy: Well, it's definitely old.
Buddy: They're willing to pay for us to get it running again.
Rummy: Yeah, okay, but how long is that gonna occupy one of our stalls? I don't like these long term restorations.
Buddy: I let em know that we could only commit to get it running again. After that it'd be up to you if we want to continue the job on restoring it.
Rummy: Hm. ... ... Marty?
Marty: Sure, let's do it.*
