What’s Rule No 1? And no we’re not talking about fight club, we’re talking about real life. It should be quite obvious…

Rule No 1 is, and always will be, Don’t Get Caught! That’s it. Simplicity itself. Even a child could (and probably should) remember it. Give everything a little thought and think about the potential world of consequences. Then have something ready to counter any reasonable possibility should it seem like occuring.

And for the hopefully rare times when this fails there’s always Rule No 2 (see previous post about The Rules).

Created after realising something similar, although smaller scale, for our nephews this Christmas. This bad boy measures in at 70 by 100 cm and was made using the magic of spray paint, paint pen, stencils and a wack handstyle. Just arrived in the mail: the middle lens of the fabled Three Princesses (the Pentax FA31, FA43, FA77 Limiteds). It doesn't quite complete the set, as I don't plan to buy an FA77; I already have its older manual focus cousin, the A*85.

The first few shots with the FA43 give a positive impression. I like the rendering better than that of the FA50, at least. It might not have quite as much fairy dust as the FA31 or A*85, though time will tell.

Sometime it is good idea to just sit down , relax and do nothing ... You can clear your mind and keeps your eyes at the horizon as far as the sea connect with the sky ...

A cowgirl at heart. I've come up with 5 cowgirl rules. This is rule #1"Shoot First". This original pendant is 1" x 1.5" and features an original collage sandwiched between two pieces of glass. It has been soldered with lead free high quality silver solder and hangs on a 20" chain

I've appeared on stage with President Clinton a number of times as part of the Get Motivated program. He is a fantastic public speaker and a really hard guy not to like. Once he told me that the secret to public speaking was the new technology: the amazing microphones and speakers that they use in the big arenas. With the right gear, he said, we speakers can talk to 20,000 people like we're sitting in our living room at home. And he really understands how to keep an audience's attention. Once I was on stage sitting behind him watching a big black fly swoop in and land on his neck, then take off and swoop back and land and walk around and take off over and over. Pres. Clinton never reacted because he knew that if he did the attention of the audience would shift from what he was saying to what he was doing. And back stage, he's the only President I've been on stage with who took the time to meet the working people. Once he saw a Latino woman who was sweeping up backstage and he waved her over and asked her if she wanted a picture with him and then asked her how her life was going, and was sincerely interested in what she had to say. Says a lot about why people love him.

1st Rule: You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB.

2nd Rule: You DO NOT talk about FIGHT CLUB.

3rd Rule: If someone says "stop" or goes limp, taps out the fight is over.

The bike in this picture is in Utah just west of Zion National Park, but the picture could easily have been taken in Escalante or Capitol Reef, two of the more seriously amazing places that you should try to take in some day. The ride from L.A. to Zion was a bit of a grind, but after that it was bliss on wheels all the way to Sturgis, SD. I've done a lot to the bike, by the way. It started life as a 2002 Softail Duece. Then I tossed the engine and put in an S&S 119 in with 113 hp; tossed the rear end, wheel and tire and put on a 240 tire with a shorty fender and a sissy bar just big enough to tie my sleeping bag to. My ground pad and a one man tent goes on the 15 inch bars up front. And I tossed the seat and tank and reshaped a heritage gas tank to blend into the custom seat. And the pipes... fishtails and oh they are way too loud... for safety, you know. Black paint. No advertising. Just chrome and black. Great bike for me which is what custom bike building is all about - making it right for you.

Some times you don't need to do alot of adjustment and editing on a shot to make it looks beautiful . This shot is almost straight a head from the camera ... it was captured from Dubai's Museum Balcony ... I liked how the doors in the left side give you the feeling of DOF :)

Sometimes this is how I get around between speaking engagements.

Major is a very tough mountain horse who knows how to climb so straight up that sometimes I have to hold on to his mane to keep from dropping off the back. He's 12 and likes life best when he doesn't see me for weeks at a time because he gets to hang out with his girlfriend and run around on 200 acres pretending he's wild and still has his cajones.

We often speak at the same Get Motivated events.
