And why not a game of cards sitting on our shoes in the middle of a Hanoi street?

Rue Saint-Paul (Saint Paul Street) is a street in the Old Montreal historic area of Montreal, Quebec.

The street was laid out by François Dollier de Casson, along the route of a path that had bordered a former fort. Saint Paul is Montreal's oldest street and for many years served as its main thoroughfare. Paved in 1672, it was named after Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve, founder of Montreal, who built a home for himself on it in 1650.

The street is home to such landmarks as the Bonsecours Market and Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel. Much of Saint Paul is still paved with cobblestones. Plans to pedestrianize the street in 2008 were dropped by the City of Montreal after complaints from merchants.

The spring ephemerals are really starting up now. It is a real treat to get out into the woods to see them. And new ones appear weekly if not daily. Photographed with the Helios 44-2 lens.

I usually don't post a second image on the same day, but I decided this was also one I wanted to show for Easter. Recently on a walk on an infrequently visited woodland trail we saw lots of early wildflowers, but only one of these. The first one is always a treat and since the ones I find are usually white or slightly pink, finding one with this rich pink color was special. These small beauties of nature always make me appreciate the fresh start that spring brings.

Pretty sure anyway. The wildflowers are starting to come alive in Illinois Canyon.

The majestic Hotel Gault (built 1871) and other beautiful architecture in Old Montreal. These real gas lanterns are a few of the 52 which burn in Old Montreal.
