Naga Baba (Hindu Holy man), covered with ritual Vibhuti sacred hash, heads towards the Ganges river at the Kumbh Mela 2013 Hindu festival near Allahabad (India).
Kumbh Mela is the largest festival on Earth, taking place once every 12 years, with more than 50 million Hindu pilgrims gathering to pray and bathe in the holy Ganges river.
Thousands of Naga Sadhus (naked Hindu Holy men) walk at dawn toward the bank of the Ganges river at the Sangam where they will take the Holy Dip. The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of the Yamuna and the Ganga (Ganges) rivers, and this is the holiest place to take the ritual baths during the Kumbh Mela. Also called Naga babas, those naked sadhus are wanderers with no possessions.
This was the morning of Vasant Panchami Snan day, an important religious date for Hindu people and one of the most auspicious mornings for taking the holy bath in the Ganges river.

This ornament may have been given by King Pratapamalla (r. 1641–74), ruler of the Malla dynasty of Nepal, to Taleju Bhavani, the revered patron goddess of the old palace in Kathmandu and the chief protective deity of Nepal and its royal family. King Pratapamalla may also have worn this collar when he participated in rituals. This complex piece is composed of five principal strands and bears the inscription: “Victory to the Mother-Goddess [Bhagavati devi Janani]. Hail! [This] is the necklace of the king of kings, lord of kings, lord of the poets, the victorious Pratapamalladeva (may it be) auspicious!”
The two innermost strands resemble rudraksha beads, made from the seeds of a large evergreen tree whose berries are commonly made into rosaries of 108 beads. Such prayer beads are most often worn by Shaivite ascetics, either around the neck or woven into their topknots. The third and fourth strands consist of tubular forms in a crescent shape known as hansuli. Each terminates in elaborate clasps, with the inner strand attached to a central amulet case. The outermost ring contains thirteen images of deities, including roundels of the eight mothers (ashtamatrikas), each depicted as the goddess Durga slaying the buffalo demon (Mahishasura). As this necklace was a royal commission, the finest Newari artists would have crafted it.

How are Chakras Affecting Your Health?
Today people are waking up to the fact that their physical, mental and spiritual health is deeply inter connected. Our body comprises of seven chakras, and these chakras determine our overall wellbeing. As with all things, they are linked to light, sound and colour. It is proper functioning of all the chakras that ensures appropriate energy flow to all body parts including our vital organs. Thus chakra cleansing and balancing is needed to enjoy good health and happiness which translates to overall abundance in all spheres of life.
Did we ever realize that the different colors we wear on our body, the flowers we see, the fragrance we smell, the sounds we hear, the foods we eat and the sunlight is working to balance the seven chakras? When these chakra wheels get the appropriate emotional response from us, they are in alignment. But negative emotions like fears, low self confidence, powerlessness, jealously, mistrust, rigidity and discontentment, imbalance them and that results in diseases in the organs associated with the chakras. With Muladhara diseases like arthritis and piles are associated, with Swadhisthana diseases like lower back pain and impotence are associated, diseases like hypertension and diabetes are connected with Manipura, with Anahata problems like heart diseases and blood pressure are related, with Vishuddha ailments like thyroid and insomnia are associated, with Ajna issues like sinus and vision problem are linked and with Sahasrara diseases like hair fall, depression and skin problems are associated. Once disease sets in, therapy is required to open up the chakra.

TRIMBAKESHWAR JYOTIRLINGA PHOTO MADE BY KAILASH MANSAROVAR FOUNDATION, SWAMI BIKASH GIRI , www.sumeruparvat.com , www.naturalitem.com
Trimbak is a city and a municipal council in Nashik District in the Indian stateof Maharashtra. Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple is located here. The origin of the sacred Godavari river is near Trimbak.
It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The extraordinary feature of the Jyotirlinga located here is the Linga in the temple is in the form of a three faced embodying Tridev, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. All other Jyotirlingas have Shiva as the main deity The Linga is crowned with a jewel studded crown believed to be from Pandavas. The crown is adorned with diamonds, emeralds, and many other types of precious stones. Trimbakeshwar town is an ancient Hindu Pilgrim centre located at the source of the Godavari River, the longest river in peninsular India. The Godavari River, which is considered sacred within Hinduism, originates from Bramhagiri mountains at Trimbakeshwar and meets the sea near Rajahmudry.
The town is appealing with natural attractions. It is at the foothills of amazing Brahmagiri & Gangadwar mountains nestled among lusting green woody trees and picturesque environments. The serene ambiance and the pleasant climate make the town of Trimbakeshwar a hot spot for nature loving tourists apart from Hindu pilgrims.
The Hindu belief is that those who visit Trimbakeshwar attain salvation or Moksha. Trimbakeshwar is considered as the most sacred town India. There are many reasons for this belief. Godavari originates from the Brahmagiri hills in this town and it is believed that it is the birth place of Lord Ganesha, known as place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri. This place is believed to be the holiest and ideal place to do Shraddha ceremony, a Hindu ritual for the salvation of the soul. Sinhastha Mahatmya speaks of Lord Rama having made the Yatra at Trimbakeshwar. A shraddha on the river Godavari gives great satisfaction to the forefathers. If it is not done in this place, it is considered as a religious sin. So Ganga Pujan, Ganga Bhet, Deh Shuddhi Prayaschitta, Tarpan Shraddha, Vayan, Dasha Dana, Gopradan etc. rituals are done in Trimbakeshwar. Mundana and Tirtha Shraddha are also performed here. The Lord Shiva at Trimbakeshwar is worshipped by recitations of Rudra, Rudri, Laghu Rudra, Maha Rudra or Ati Rudra puja. Actually Rudraksha is a religious fruit which is said to be found in Lord Shiva's neck in the form of Rudra garland. Some of the trees of Rudraksha are also found in Trimbakeshwar. The holy Jyotirlinga circuit will be complete with the visit to this sacred Shiva temple. Other facilities at Trimbakeshwar The public and religious institutions in the town are Veda shala, Sanskrit Pathashala, Kirtan Sanstha, Pravachan Sanstha, two gymnasiums, Lokmanya Free Reading Room, municipal office, post and telegraph office, Bus station, dispensary and a police sub-inspector’s office. Sanskrit Pathashala has produced a good many disciples who have become Shastris and Pandits. Noted film maker and father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke was born here. Pradakshina (Ring routes/ Pheri) There are two pradakshinas (ring routes) in this kshetra - one round the Brahmagiri and the other one round Hariharagiri. Pilgrim has to go for pradakshina with holy garment early in the morning visiting and bathing in various tirthas. The tour is to be completed in either a day, three days.

How to differentiate between rudraksha and bhadraksha? Bhadraksh are lighter in weight when compared to rudrakshas. Why? Because of their lesser density...

Vishnu Shankh With Stand
Vishnu Shankh represents the Om sound. It is believed that when the world was being made, Lord Brahma had to find a method of communication for the inhabitants. He devised a method of communication using sound. For this, he had to create multiple sounds and add meaning to each one of them. He went to Lord Vishnu and asked for his help. Lord Vishnu picked up his shankh and blew in it. The voice that emerged out was Om and Lord Brahma captured this sound to create multiple versions of this and develop on this sound.
Benefits of Vishnu Shankh - It is the producer of something new, novel and unconventional on the planet. It is good for entrepreneurs and people who have to use quick thinking and rapid-acting while staying on their feet all the time without a long time to think or act.
