12/25/12. We don't always do a Christmas tree, but this year we did. I do always enjoy unwrapping the ornaments, though. Rudolph is one of my faves. He always looks so cheery, even after having spent a year (or more) in a crowded orange crate.
The Rudolph-Parke House in Canton was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. Photograph from the nomination.
Built in 1902, the Queen Anne style house was nominated to the National Register for its architecture. It was built on speculation by James Lewis of the Farmers State Bank and initially sold to Martin E. and Claudia Rudolph. Claudia owned the house until 1921 (after Martin passed away in 1903).
In 1934, Dr. LeRoy and Naomi Parke bought the property. The house was used for his practice also, the kitchen sometimes serving as a birthing room. Dr. Parke practiced medicine until his death in 1973.
