This dragonfly suncatcher measures 5 1/2 inches diameter (14cm).
I've used a ruby red glass glob for the head, ruby red Waterglass for the body and tail and textured ruby red glass for the wings. The background is a really cool clear textured glass called Rainwater.

The Aurora Borealis on this night had a KP index of 7.6, the most since 2017. It's constantly changing shape and colors. Quite a sight to see!

This show always attracts some great cars like this one, but they have to pack them in pretty closely together, so it's tough to get the best shot. This one had enough space between it and the next one, but had a big sign blocking the front view, was back lit and had tons of reflection. One day I'm going to figure out how to avoid or remove all the reflections from these very shiny cars. Perhaps a polarizer is the answer?
An off the cutting room floor shot, my first thought for G but just didn't cut it at the time of shooting but looking at it now it's not so bad. It doesn't make it into my Alphabet project but definitely makes it into my 215.

Please say a prayer for Ms. RubyRed, and for me too. She is not doing well the past several days but she is calm and very sweet. Kidney disease is catching up with her. She lost 3 lbs since her check up a month ago. I can't imagine her not being here...

I have a lot of cat beds here, one is very large. The 2 that the kitties prefer are the original beds that Ms RubyRed and Ms Phoebe had for 19 years. The one that I keep in the bathroom is RubyRed's.
When I got home from the zoo all three were snuggled in the dark red one in the living room - Ms Phoebe's bed.
With Holly's wig, she will keep it too. I'll try to soften the reddish eye shadow with a bit of chalk pastels.

By the time I finished processing my selfie, I had so many tonal versions of this...from light to dark...I chose the deeper tones to post...thought was a little more dramatic...the apple richer red, etc...

Two weeks ago, Doc shoveled a foot of snow off of our rhubarb bed to give it some time in the sun. This is what one of our plants look like this morning.
Since we live at around 2,400' elevation - "green up" has not happened yet - but it's getting close.
Twenty miles away, the leaves have popped out on the trees in Glennallen (elevation 1,400') - so in another 24 to 48 hours - we should see green!
With Julien's wig and I think she'll keep it, it suits her so well.
(Of to look for a new hairstyle for Julien now :))

It's strange how you see your work, and how you feel most comfortable with it... for instance, I never seem to like my photos in black and white, and I never seem to like them in portrait. Still, I hope you do!
My final artwork and everything has to be in in three weeks time. That'll be it. Finito. Samoosh. No more photoshopping for marks or grades. The last assessment I'll have in my photographic 'career' unless I change my mind and go back to it one day. Taking photos will be purely for fun, for flickr, and for me. Not for the examiner, whom I pray just gives me an A.
Scary stuff.
It's round about my second flickr birthday, I shall have to celebrate.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a fan of selfies and I don’t much like my photograph being taken, from the front anyway. I am also very self-conscious and self-critical of my looks… it’s a long story with many chapters. However, there are a couple of things about my physicality that I do like. My eyes and eyelashes, and my hands. My eyes will vary from brown to green depending upon how I am feeling. My eyelashes always get comments about how long and thick they are, and people do ask me whether I wear mascara (which I don’t). My hands are my outlet for my creativity: drawing, sketching, designing, painting, beading, photographing, cooking, writing… the list goes on. I have a very slender hand and rather long and elegant fingers, perfect for peeping from beneath the cuff of a well cut pink shirt and for showing off the antique rings I love so much.
This weeks "Flickr Friday" theme is "self", and this now makes the third self portrait I have done using my eyes and my hands.
The original self portrait I submitted to the "Snap Happy" group for the theme "selfie" used one of my eyes, which appears in the right hand camera image. The second was for "Looking Close... on Friday!" where the theme was "eyes", where I took a second photo of my other eye to make a pair on a background of circles of my eyes. This time I have taken a photo of the second portrait using the first portrait to make a third portrait.
However, I have included some other clues about my taste for this image: the Regency ruby ring on my finger (a family heirloom), a pink striped shirt with blue polka dots (one of my favourites this season), and some Japanese print paper (I love Japanese prints and design).
All in all I think this makes a rather Surrealist self portrait of which I think might have made Salvador Dali a little jealous!

Robin & Holly and Julien are Ruby Red Fashion Friends that I pre-ordered awhile ago (don't ask I'm terrible with dates) and they just arrived today. I was so surprised that Julien was in the package as I didn't get a shipping notice for him. He was pre-ordered last Summer, waaaay before the girls.
The girls are Christmas 2022 limited edition (450 Robin - 400 Holly) They are wearing each other outfit and wig.
Julien is an exclusive doll made for the French dealer "Un Bonheur de Colibri". Limited edition of 140pcs.
He has a twin sister called Opaline that I didn't get.

A "Ruby Crystal Christmas Tree" which is 11.5m tall with 310,000 pieces of swarovski crystals. So if you are good in appraisal, how much would this xmas tree cost?
I think, 360 thousand pieces of swarovski include those of the two chandeliers which I would post soon.
