Lone Star Citrus Growers is a family-owned and operated Texas grapefruit packing house, established 19 years ago. The company specializes in Texas-grown citrus, primarily grapefruit (about 80%) and oranges (about 20%), shipping roughly one million 40-pound cartons annually during its October–March season. Known for its advanced processing technology, Lone Star Citrus uses digital camera systems to grade and size fruit, ensuring quality standards for “fancy” and “choice” grades. I played around with off-camera flash to add 'rim light' to the smaller bubbles, leaving the largest unlit.

new set from rubyred <3

"...Although it may have certain side-effects when it comes to finding a mate."

Sometimes I crack myself up.. After watching all the commercials for the latest miracle drugs on the market, with their mile-long list of possible side-effects - and having read the label carefully, not wanting to harm the little buggers - I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I looked at the effect that the light had on this one as he sat in the glow from the feeder...

I had just been musing to myself about the fact that although these hummingbirds have the beautiful iridescent green backs, they don't have the ruby throats that one might expect. I don't know if that's a mating season only thing, or if these are a slightly different species..

bigger - and redder..
