This is Ruby, the only survivor out of a litter of 4. All of them had roundworm and I took her and a remaining sibling to the vet's office, I guess I was a little too late, her brother died after bringing him home to the vet, but even when Ruby had a cold and was fighting off roundworm and anemia from all the fleas she had...she still played with Mama.

Ruby Beach is the northernmost of the southern beaches in the coastal section of Olympic National Park in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located on Highway 101, in Jefferson County, 27 miles (43 km) south of the town of Forks.

RUBY is a lovely SharPei mix who’s about 18 months old. She’s a gentle, friendly young dog who LOVES to chase a ball – she’ll even bring it back so you can throw it again :-)

She’s also very food-motivated and attentive, so she’ll be fun to take to obedience class, and she seems to get along with other dogs.

Ruby will be a wonderful family companion.

This was taken a few hours after birth. We got to the midwife center at 8:30 a.m., and within 45 minutes, she was born at 9:12 a.m. Ruby is her name, mainly because we liked it. But also, a Ruby is a) one of Reid's mom's nicknames b) Marijke's birthstone and c) a precious gem.

This Ruby Throated Hummingbird is another one of the sweet finds on my first visit to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I would really like to revisit in better lighting conditions, but I was just excited to have had the opportunity to watch one of these little hyper birds.
