I asked my husband to take a picture of my hand and that beautiful bracelet my little girl gave me for my birthday. isn't she sweet.
She knows I support the cause for Breast Cancer too.

Pour la 18ème campagne d'Octobre Rose, le groupe Estée Lauder France pour l'association "Le Cancer du Sein, Parlons-en !" a choisi de clore ce mois dédié à l'information sur l'importance du dépistage précoce et à la lutte contre le cancer du sein par un évènement d'envergure sans précédent en France*. Cet évènement a eu lieu en plein cœur de Paris, dans l'enceinte de l'un de ses plus beaux et emblématiques bâtiments, le Grand Palais, grâce au concours et à la générosité exceptionnels de la RMN-Grand Palais.

La edad media de perras en la diagnosis es a partir de los 8 años.
La mejor forma de evitar el cáncer de mamas en perras es mediante la esterilización antes de su primer celo, pero esto nos deja definitivamente sin la posibilidad de tener cachorros, aunque disminuye a un 0,05% la posibilidad de este cáncer.
A mi perrita que tiene 10 años la han operado 3 veces el mes pasado ...esta foto es del dia siguiente de la ultima operacion, el pasado domingo, si vierais las dos heridas que tiene os daba un pasmo...y ahi la teneis tan entera.
A dia de hoy esta ya muy bien y contenta, mañana vamos otra vez al vet. a ver que tal la encuentra......

This picture was shot at sunrise near Assi ghat along the Ganges in Varanasi (Benaras).
I dreamt that this lady adjusting her sari after taking a bath in the holy waters was receiving pink particles in order to protect her from cancer.
Each year "Pink for October" allows me to make pictures like this.
It is a way to pay a tribute to those many women who are fighting and to those like my mother who are not there anymore.

This picture isn’t mine, I can’t read the name of the photographer who signed my parent’s wedding photo album.
I opened it by chance while I was looking for something else.
This image kept my attention, I don’t think I ever saw it before.
I know where it was shot, the same tree is still there in front of the window...
It was in the begining of the month of June, my mother was 22 years old then.
When she passed away she was still young and she looked the same and therefore she will always be.
Today was her birthday, I can’t take any picture of her since a very long time now but I have my memory and those beautiful images done by talented artists.
I apologize for showing some of my private pictures on internet to some people who are close to me and who don’t like this at all, but I do it for the “Breast Cancer Awarness Compaign” in which I am involved since 10 years, in order to help with those words at least one woman to go for Breast Cancer Prevention, so that my mother's death wouldn't be useless.

Il y a 2 semaines j'ai été submergée par un tsunami... Au départ ça devait être une simple mammographie accompagnée d'une échographie...
J'étais dans la salle d'attente à attendre mon tour, et en quelques toutes petites minutes le monde s'est ouvert sous mes pieds... J'ai eu le sentiment d'avoir été brassée comme une poupée de chiffon dans le tambour d'un lave-linge !!.....
Depuis, mon univers ne tourne plus qu'autour de ce cancer tranquillement lové, installé, planqué depuis je ne sais pas combien te temps dans mon sein, à se nourrir de moi...
Moi qui avais en horreur d'être photographiée j'ai eu besoin tout de suite d’exorciser cette violence et toutes ces émotions et angoisses, tous ces cauchemars et ces nuits agitées, toutes ces questions sans fin qui tournent en boucle dans ma tête et se cramponnent à mes entrailles...
Mon ami Al Alcosinus m'a proposé de mettre en scène mon nouveau moi et d'exprimer ce que moi et tant d'autres pouvons ressentir en pareille épreuve !
Nous avons fait des photos que je posterais au fur et à mesure de mon parcours. Photos qui peuvent être à la fois dures, violentes, tendres, sensibles, féminines et souvent, très souvent même, très drôles et déjantées !!
Merci à tous mes amis et ma famille qui sont présents dès à présent et j'espère jusqu'au bout, jusque à virer et exploser ce putain de cancer !!!

This is Ali Isa Khan Niazi's tomb which is beside Humayun's Tomb in Delhi.
It was built 20 years before Humayun's tomb complex and it is situated at the first entrance of the gardens.
The complex is a World Heritage Site and the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India.
This style of mausoleum was the same that created the Taj Mahal in Agra.
The tomb of Humayun was built by the orders of Hamida Banu Begum, Humayun's widow starting in 1562.
Restoration work by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) was completed in March 2003, enabling water to flow through the watercourses in the gardens once more. Funding for this work was a gift from the institutions of His Highness the Aga Khan to India.

Pink for October is an initiative started in August of 2006, in which sites all over the world change their templates to include the color pink, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, because October is the month of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness.
The aim of Pink Ribbon International is to create a supportive community worldwide and to inform patients, specialist, families and friends about Pink Ribbon and Breast Cancer.
This is an image of the Eiffel tower which is bathing in blue light every evening since the begining of summer for the French Presidency of the European Union since the second half of 2008.
I decided to change the blue colour into pink shades in order to support the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign in which I am involved since many years.
This picture is for those unknown women who are fighting, those heroes of our times, it's for my friend M. from Varanasi (Benaras) who is a great warrior.
The fight must carry on.

There is no "Art" in this image, for once I am using a simple picture in order to give a simple message:
"Any woman should have an annual clinical breast exam and should do a monthly self-exam because today breast cancer can be cured if it is diagnosed in time".
This woman on the picture loved life, she spoke several languages, she travelled in many countries and met many people.
She had a family, she was loved and she loved.
She was born in Normandie near the ocean, she enjoyed walking near the sea with her dog at sunrise and she liked to invite her friends at home for unforgetable parties.
She was playing Beethoven and Chopin at the piano but she was listening to Bruce Springsteen while driving her car.
Wherever she was going you could smell Jicky (by Guerlain)...
She has been a surgeon therefore she was aware of medical treatments but she decided to forget that little thing which appeared one day on her breast.
During the two last years of her life there was only Champagne in her fridge, it was a way for her to deny what was going on.
I guess she was too scared.
She didn't tell anyone and no one could see it...
When I shot this picture nine years ago I didn't know then that it was one of my mother's last pictures.
Usualy I am not immodest when I comment my images but I am involved in this "Breast Cancer Awarness Campaign" and if those words can help at least one woman to go for Breast Cancer Prevention, then my mother's death wouldn't be useless.
