So this shot was pure luck. Was on an aircraft flying from Dubai to Heathrow and following the flight path on screen. Noticed we were going through Turkey so opened the blinds and saw this at 36000 feet up. Had to try take the shot and even though some clarity lost through the window it was just a beautiful sight and had to share!

Ararat is located at Agri in eastern Turkey near the Armenian and Iranian borders. The summit of Mt. Ararat is 5,165 meters above sea level. It is higher than any mountain in the continental United States except for Alaska or in Europe outside the Caucasus.

Ararat is a dormant volcano; the last eruption was on June 2, 1840. At present the upper third of the mountain is covered with snow all the time; the last hundred meters of snow at the top have turned to ice. For climbers on the mountain, fresh running water is available after the sun has been up a while to melt the snow, but it is cut off in the late afternoon when cold air has overcome the heat of the sun. Below the snow the slopes are covered with great blocks of black basalt rock, some as large as village houses.

Over the years various groups have explored Ararat in the hopes of finding remains of Noah's Ark. Both Josephus in about 70 A.D. and Marco Polo about 1300 A.D. mention its existence on the mountain, but their reports are based on others' accounts. Josephus remarks that its remains are on display for all to see without need of an organised exploration. In more recent years many groups have hunted for it there. The possibility that ancient fables are historical fact is intriguing, and each new discovery of truth in previously discredited records gives additional strength to continuing the search for archaeological confirmation.

However, the problems of establishing exactly what the biblical record in this case means are serious ones that need to be settled even before one accepts this particular high mountain as the right place to look for the ark. In itself even that ignores the possibility that Noah and his family used up the ark in bits and pieces to build their new homes, a fate that has destroyed many other famous structures in the Near East since.

The story of Noah's ark, as it is told in the Bible, is a reworking of an earlier Babylonian myth recorded in the Gilgamesh Epic. The hero of the earlier version is one Utnapishtim, the favorite of Ea, the god of wisdom. It seems probable that the Babylonian story was based on an unusually devastating flood in the Euphrates (Firat) River basin, and that the ark in it grounded on the slopes of one of the Zagros mountains. The biblical word that we read as "Ararat" could as well be read "Urartu"; the text has merely "rrt" and the proper vowels must be supplied.

Urartu was the name of a historical kingdom, but the word also meant "a land far away" and "a place in the north." So, while Buyuk Agri Dagi is a spectacular mountain and not a difficult one to climb for those experienced in high altitude exercise, it still seems less than likely that Noah's Ark will be found there. That doubt does not detract from the continuing interest in it, nor from the important achievements of archaeologists in deepening our understanding of the Old Testament.

In a time of war, resources are in high demand, and Iron Ore is a necessary commodity in making every vehicle in the Penguin Monarchy's arsenal. The Surafec includes a command center, a cemetery, and minecart accesses to the shafts below. The Chasms include an intricate maze of minecart track on which minecarts and Drill units ride.

In the online strategy game of DA4 the war may be heating up, but there's still nothing like taking a short break to watch a beautiful sunset over the gulf and enjoy the simple things in life.

Per the specs for the Oil RRT category, the base of the build is precisely 30x30 studs, there's an oil tanker ship in the bottom left, a flame at the top of the derrick, and a teeny spill off to the bottom right of the derrick depicted by the curved claw piece.

Aberrycan engineers have pushed the limits of the conventional oil platform. Here we can see they have taken a double rig and integrated it with a communications array. Each of these rigs integrates with the main pipeline, known as The Squeeze.

A Pollinator class Raspberry staffs the comms unit, ensuring smooth communications. She also looks for opportunities to hijack enemy signals. She is accompanied by Blackberry officer Nightlock, who is second to none with her .50 cal rifle.

On the surface, Do-Berries are hard at work. Unfortunately even the ever competent Do-Berry is guilty of an occasional mistake. Not to worry, though. A cleanup crew is on the job!

Oil is a precious commodity on Desiac and the Penguin monarchy has developed equipment to harvest oil in the frozen fjords of Falien, or continent F. The oil rigs are suspended over oil-rich waters by four giant suspension legs. oil is extracted through the main column and is stored in giant collection vats on the second level. Helicopters and other aircraft dock at the landing platforms for refueling and transporting the oil to the battlefront. Oil spills also have uses as the easily kill native aquatic wildlife to be harvested as food for the penguin armies.

"There's gold in them thar harbor!" The penguins cried,

And soon the news had spread far and wide,

Hundreds of coins that made a nice "chink"!

There was gold plated everything, even the kitchen sink!

But beware you Penguins if gold you seek.

For if ye be not careful you'll end up as shark meat.

- By Flynn, a penguin poet-

It was a great day for the penguins when gold was discovered under the frozen harbor of F4. Each penguin wanted to hoard as much for himself as possible, but Frost soon put an end to that. A national currency was adopted and fearless penguins were hired to brave the shark infested waters. The Gold itself was something of a mystery to the Penguins. It had obviously been left by some previous civilization, and it had weird symbols inscribed upon it. Scholars were eventually able to decipher the text which said, "We cower before Mag." Inlaid on each coin was a small picture of Vitae, Terrus, Lux, and Kevin springing from some mysterious cloudy being. Is this the "Mag" the inscription speaks of? I guess we will never know...

"People mock the Varulev, you know. Bunch of peace-loving morons, weak as chips. They change their tune when they meet an Øksman."

The Varulev Øksman are the loyal lumber workers of the Empire, and are the last surviving remnants of their life under tyranny.

During the time when the forefathers of the Varulev where crushed beneath a tyrants heal, the task of lumber work was often treated as a punishment.

Forced out into the freezing wilderness of the continent now known as 'B' with barely any clothing, and given a quota that was near impossible to fill...few souls made it.

However, the one's that did, those who pushed through with unbending will, slaying the trees and hauling them home, were praised as heroes.

After the founding of the Empire, the Øksman continued in their work, a people that had grown so used to the cold that they refused to change their way of life.

And so, they continue, though now much better equipped and far safer. Each Øksman carries next to nothing, so their axe acts as the protection and safety equipment that they need.

An Øksman's axe, called an Element-carver, can reform it's head with a different elemental property, depending on the Øksman's needs.

If they need to clear snow, the head can reform as fiery red to melt away the path before them .

Also, though fires are rare in the snow-covered hills, the head can glow a brilliant blue and release a beam of frost from it's blade that instantly extinguishes the fire in question.

The Øksman are simple folk, but perhaps the hardest that Varulev raised. The songs they sing reflect this well.

I’m an Øksman of Varulev, yes I am.

I’ll work in the weather, I don’t give a damn.

I’ll bare the cold, endure the strain.

I’m unyielding, don’t feel pain.

Hurry now lads and chop the trees.

Bring them crashing to their knees.

We’ll carve them up and bring them home.

To burn them in our halls of stone.

Cut the timber.

Feeling limber.

Breathe the sawdust.

It’s good for us.

Do the work now.

Don’t you slow down.

We will do it right,

So let us all unite.

Country: People's Republic of Catland (PRC)

Flag: Red Cat

Motto: "Soft paws ... sharp claws!"

There is a popular revolution in Catland! Under the cover of military exercises, several intelligence officers, hiding under the guise of the National Institute of Hydrography, with the support of the Marine Corps units, threw off the hated power of corporate oligarchs and proclaimed a people's republic! Among the first decrees are the ban on instagram, the ban on cutting claws to cats, the ban on silicone implants for people, the ban on building fire trucks from LEGO (only by medical prescription to get rid of addiction). Sean Kenney is wanted by Interpol.

My RRT Lumber Extraction Unit for DA4.

This is ditty the vikings sing as they chop down trees for their new houses.

Hack and hack and hack away,

We will work all day,

Ruffnut will the dragons slay,

Tuffnut will the fire quench,

And we will never flinch.

So hack and hack away...

The Penguin Monarchy employ the help of any individuals who are willing to serve. These Brave lumberjack went through a one week training course and are now experts at operating an kind of harvesting and fire-prevention equipment needed to clear the Resource-Rich Forests of this new world. Vehicles include a Twin-bladed helicopter, backhoe, and a fire truck.

An Ode to the Trees:

The air is brisk and our spirits are free,

So we sing as we work and cut down the trees,

ba ba da Bum ba ba, ba da Bum ba

Cutting, Sawing, clearing the woods,

We do our job as all lumberjacks should,

ba ba da Bum ba, ba ba da Bum ba

We keep our pace through the ice and snow,

The cold is a felling we come well to know,

ba ba da Bum ba, ba ba da Bum ba,

Our work is hard and our days are long,

And all nature keeps time to our beautiful song.

People's Republic of Catland RRT Extraction unit - Oil.

Oil is a strategic resource for waging war. This is why the National Institute of hydrography is responsible for oil exploration and production in Catland. Specialists of this Institute came to an unexpected discovery. They found almost limitless sources of high concentrations of petroleum products in the ocean... The difficulty of getting them was that they were ... moving!!! Therefore, the Navy was involved in oil production. A geological survey vessel (enemy propaganda for some reason calls this peaceful ship a heavy missile cruiser "Sea Leopard" class) detects an oil field and stops it with 130 mm research probes... Next, an oil-producing vessel is moored to the ship-oil field, marine special forces block the bridge of the enemy ship, a powerful shipboard crane is used to install drilling rig and oil production begins! The extracted oil is transferred to a tanker (to avoid further incidents and lawsuits, the national Institute of hydrography uses nuclear submarines to transport oil). The only drawback of this method of production is that after 130-mm research probes hit the ship-oil field, there are usually oil leaks in the sea and other troubles...
