Went back for the star fish with a few from our local phtography club but alas unbeknown you actually need the tides on the full moon/ new moon in order for the tide to go out far enough along with low tide and sunset - Alot to get lined up. However did get a couple of nice shots of the sunset and the trip was super fun!

Another shot ...no star fish but great fun looking for different compostitions

I was delighted this week to become an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society after a successful distinction submission. This required 15 images - in my case as prints - around a coherent topic. The image here was the first in the sequence as displayed and all were based around this New Forest pool, made with an infrared camera and converted to B&W. As I said in my Statement of Intent it's a place of "eccentric charm" - scruffy to you and me - but it had a draw and I returned here over all seasons for several years and felt in the end there were enough images to make a set. Finding the right paper, printing them well and then mounting the prints (40x50cm mounts are recommended) were all practical challenges. The RPS provides a one-2-one session for advice which was invaluable and I had help from a good friend with the mounting. It all came together and I hand-delivered the portfolio to RPS House in Bristol at the end of May. You do have the option of attending the assessment in person but it's not the easiest place to get to for me and my set was first up at 10.00am so I went with the Zoom option to watch it & was pleased I did as the assessors are professionals at the top of our art and I would have retreated under my seat!! I did get some lovely feedback however and was delighted with the outcome after all the emotional energy that went into the process. I'd happily recommend the route for people who wanted to explore their own photography further and of course the project is an objective for something to do with the images we make - I'll need to find something else to focus on now!!

In 2023 I'm using as many of my half-frame cameras as I can. This was taken with an Agfa Parat I, it soon became clear that the film wasn't winding on properly, so I moved the film to another camera. This one is an unplanned multiple exposure.

The film is Orwo N74 developed in Rodinal 1:50 for 13mins at 20 degrees.

I keep forgetting to post a view of the back...

2 stubby wings, 2 killer thrusters, no landing gear and 2 ornamental lasers makes the 'Mockingbird' one of the cutest and least practical starfighters ever to leave the shipyards. Why should you invest in one? no idea. should you anyway? yes you should.

First build of the year! yes the white stripe came from a lego sticker sheet :p a potential entry in my local lugs "spaceship SaceShip! SPACESHIP!?!" contest coming up, though I hve another one in the works that may take its place...

Not really sure what I was doing with the presentation but it kinda looks nifty? I might change it if I decide I dislike it all of a sudden.

enjoy!

Raynes Park Station, S W London. Carters Tested Seeds was a nearby concern famous for its production and sale of garden flower seeds. In my childhood these green liveried horsedrawn carts were still to be seen passing from the goods yard, and under the small railway arch, where this cart is heading, on the road back to the factory .
