The Roxy Theatre in Lockport, Illinois is one of many theatres that bear the name. Each one is a small testament to the enduring power of the grand New York movie palace that popularized it.
Interestingly, the current use of this theatre (as of January of 2012) seems to be a nightclub. While that's not an uncommon new purpose for theatres, this one is unusual in that it tries to provide a safe place to socialize for people with mental illnesses from nearby treatment centers. Our beautiful Roxy was put to sleep - May 18th 2008. She had back problems and was bleeding from somewhere inside. We will miss you so much!!

i got a chance to visit my grandpa on my trip recently to florida. he recently got a new dog, an american bulldog named roxy.
she's quite a handful; always jumping on top of stuff. doesn't seem to run out of energy.
A really impressive venue, all gold, shiny and theatre-red curtains. Pity about the picture screen, too big to move for the photo. They use it for concerts and films and next time I'm up that way I'll go to whatever is on.
