The River was calm and the light fading fast. I had a Chicken Curry from The Mandarin Palace being babysat by my wife in the passenger's seat of my jeep which really needs to consider doing more MPG if it's gonna stay.
I'd spotted three or four teams of rowers making their way upstream on The River Foyle (Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland) and as I insisted on the usual lollipops and sachets of Soy Sauce, the rowers passed by The Mandarin (it's the one with the chinese Elvis - Stan Lee, the owner).
I jumped in the jeep and as we crossed the lower deck of Craigavon Bridge the first of the boats was passing beneath. Along Duke Street we went pulling in at The Waterside Railway Station. I aimed and shot at the rowers as they passed, but with the fading light, the absence of a tripod (yet again) and the lack of my yet to be learned knowledge of capture under these conditions, the rowers were blurred. So I settled for the ripples which they left in their wake instead.
If you ever visit The Mandarin Palace, tell them that the Soy Sauce and Lollipop guy said hi. (they might look at you funny - but it's worth a punt !)
