Note: The base of the bill is red it is normally yellow until roused. This one was also making a moaning sound that I had never heard a Snow Egret make before. The base of the bill known as "lores" can give clue to the mood of the bird.

Hi Andy, Is this not right up your street? I might persuade you, you need to spend a few days in Glasgow city. It has sooo much character. I just took a quick, nostalgic trip round some of my old stomping ground and found myself here in Union Place, Glasgow

In the morning,

Sunlight turns the dew of night

into stars that jingle bright.

In the morning

Bracken rolls its duvet down

when the sky reveals its crown

turning air blood-orange fresh

rousing souls in Beastie’s breath.

The wallabies are out at this time for a feed, so that gets the girls going.

'Rouseabout' is an old rural word that was common in Oz & NZ, referring to people who helped out in the shearing sheds or general odd jobs on the farms.

But here I'm using it as a verb for the girls, as they just love charging after after anything on the move, hence 'rousing about', like 'rebel rousing', almost as if they're celebrating the cool change that comes late in the day.

Taken back in Oct., but now we're in Autumn, it's still quite hot.

At present, I haven't been out taking pics - in fact none for this month at all ! - but still have loads to post.

Decided to group them together in relevance, rather than by date.

Thank you to my friends for your kind visits, comments, support.

I'm doing my best to get back to all of you when I can. xxx

sooc..

This jaguar had been sleeping but was disturbed by a second jaguar. It is clearly showing its displeasure! The nick on its front left leg may be due to their rough encounter.

Duane Eddy

In my youth when I was starting to get into music, the one guitar player I really liked was Duane Eddy! He played a guitar like nobody ever had, or ever had, since. He was sort of the country version of Chuck Berry. We always loved it when our parents would drop us off at the skating rink for a couple hours and we would 'dance' on roller skates to the music.

Ahhhhhh, those were the days. I always thought the best dance song that he played (at the rink) was one called Forty Miles of Bad Road.

I can't explain it..........you had to been there!

Revelation 3:3 “Be mindful, therefore, of the lessons you have received and heard. Continually lay them to heart, and repent. If, however, you fail to rouse yourself and keep awake, I shall come upon you suddenly like a thief, and you will certainly not know the hour at which I shall come to judge you.”

The first trout lily I noticed blooming in the yard. It's conveniently next to a large boulder so the background is pretty cool. OM 90mm at f/4.

Never let the world

dull your shine.

Be the impossible,

the improbable,

the unique,

the spark that

ignites a fire that has died;

the one among many,

the rebel,

the rouser,

that awakens all

that must come to life.

Typical rubble rousers--no matter how much rubble they rouse they're still looking up for more rubble to rouse. How many times can you say "typical rubble rouser" without tripping on your tongue.

Cigars, Cigarettes, Candy and Clean Restrooms! What more could anyone want? Sorry Donna & Keith. No vines or power lines. The building has seen better days, but the owner takes great care of his/her mailbox and storage container!

Had to work for this one. The fall was about 4 miles down a dirt road, that was the easy bit. I then turned onto an ATV route, slowly got rockier and rockier, engaged 4WD, slowed to a crawl, before I knew it I had navigated the rocks and was firmly into the mud section. At the point of the four wheels starting to spin. I was able to get the truck out and turned around (ever tried a 3point turn in an F150 on an ATV route!).

Once the truck was back to slightly firmer ground and covered in mud, I parked it and walked the rest of the way. Glad I did as it only got worse, mud almost to the knee in places on the way to this waterfall.

After about 1/2 mile the mud gave way to brush, but I eventually found the fall. Needless to say I had the place to myself. I did wonder how often anyone ever visited this fall, there was no well trodden paths to it. Kinda felt I owed it a photo, or maybe it owed me!
