Apple green and navy upholstery add jolts of color inspired by a glass vase collection. Paired shelves make the fireplace stand out.

Painting windowsills white is a classic decorating trick -- it makes the windows seem bigger and brighter. Notice, too, that the scale of the lamps matches the sloped ceiling (the lamp on the right is taller), and that the pictures are hung at different heights, as well. The colorful rugs and warm gray walls make the small room feel cozy, not oppressive.

Finally he's got a big boy's room! It's not finished, I want to hang a few small shelves above the little table on the right for his crayons and felt pens and I'd like some art or wall hangings on that wall.

I bought the Sniglar Ikea bed and two Lack shelves last week. We already had the hanging storage thing, but I'm not so sure about that anymore..:)

We couldn't put the bed all the way against the wall, because of the pipes of the central heating, so there was a hole next to his matras. Since we're using it as a couch to read to him at night, I cut a big thick couch pillow in half, which we had lying around. I altered the cover, adding an extra zipper for one half and put this amazing fifties or sixties Australia teatowel on it. My son loves it, with the kangaroos and penguins. I was up late last night making the covers and put them on his bed before I went to sleep. We woke up extremely early from his little excited voice, yelling there were penguins and birds in his bed:)

We found the little brown cupboard in this house when we moved in. My mom got us the playing table and the chair comes from my father in laws school.

The carpet is from the Hema (this store has it own Flickr fan-group!)

Behind the whit Louvre-doors is a wastafel, faucet, (what's that in english?) There's a cupboard with drawers for clothes in the right corner of the room.

White paint, along with low, simple furnishings, opens up a space. Transparent furniture, like the 70's bubble chair hanging by the window, doesn't obstruct the view. Photo by Francesco Lagnese, Domino, May 07.

They look like real wood, but they're actually plastic -- and weigh only 16 pounds each. The homeowner painted the beams with two tones of gray paint to lend them a time-weathered authenticity. Other updates to the room: new pillows, a new lamp, and a cleaned-up mantle.

Since I have been so busy for the past few weeks, my sister and I didn't have much footage for our dolly vlogs. Therefore some of the clips in this video are a little bit older, and span a longer period of time. I hope you enjoy this video anyways--it was a lot of fun to film, and I look forward to having a bit more time for videos in the near future.

In a quest for more light, this architect home-owner tore out the dark fireplace and replaced it with a white-painted poplar surround and slate hearth, which led the way for the entire room's palette. Photo by Paul Costello, Domino, Oct. 2006.

Tomorrow is the big painting & re-arranging rooms day!

...in my zen-like tranquility!

These are my new red frames I got for my birthday, as the purple ones I had didn't end up working out.

Special Spaces of Phoenix first project! Volunteers made 7 year old Nicklas, who has osteosarcoma, a special bedroom that is a very happy place! Nicklas was a happy little boy. His family was eating at the fire station while volunteers stopped from making finishing touches on three rooms inside to take a group pjoto. Most are members of the same chapter of BNI, a professional networking organization. www.facebook.com/BiltMOREPower

Front row: Casey, Kenna Powell, Aubrey Badeau, Dr. Alexander Slepak, Special Spaces of Phoenix Co-founders Maren Ettesvold and Maureen Geraghty, Torri Saiz, Bill Tudor, Colleen Geraghty

The girl with the prize winning room is 6 now! We finally got rid of the big Lundia shelves and remade Lundia desk, which once was the dresser for the babies. The result: much more open space!

I painted the cupboards I found in the basement. (did I mention our basement IS a thriftstore? The previous owners could't throw stuff away either and left a lot when they moved out)

There are 2. I really want to hang them off the floor, but am still trying to find a way to do that safely. The backs are made of hardboard and the walls aren't too great here. Tips are welcome:)

Check out all the detail, down to new pillows with fire and police patches sewn by volunteers from Scottsdale Center for Dental Medicine, paint and windows by may more from BNI BiltMORE Power (find us on Facebook!). Great bedroom, right?! Many people with big hearts made this happen for Nicklas and his family.

Megan's new room!

I was asked by the good folks at HGTV to make a piece for the show “Meg’s Great Rooms.” They were giving a makeover to a home and wanted to bring a little nature indoors. It’s a waterfall featuring ginkgo leaves and a few dragonflies for an added bit of whimsy. When I showed it to Meg she cried. I’m gonna assume they were tears of joy!

• Rusted Cor-ten steel

• Hand-cut and forged leaves

• Handmade dragonflies

• 84” h x 36” w

--Testimonial-- HEY!! THEY LOVED IT!!!! The clients were sooo excited!! I can't wait for the rest of America to be just as surprised!! Thanks again for your amazing work and all your help! You are so great at what you do!!! You can really see your passion in your work!

that chair reaaaaally needs a slipcover.

In the middle window there are my Indian wedding bells I bought on a trip to California to visit my dad a few years back.

I am hoping they will bless our marital bed with much more bliss.

What did NOLA Clutter Busters do: we found all the furniture to fit this very small space.

After emptying the room- NOLA Clutter Busters started to add the office furniture to create a more functional space.

Small spaces are NOLA Clutter Busters specialty- after years of helping clients find the right pieces of their rooms.

NOLA Clutter Busters has a knack for taking unusual items and creating art.

NOLA Clutter Busters added some personal photo's to the walls giving the space something fun to look at !

Hidden storage is key to creating a functional space in an office. NOLA Clutter Busters also included a vintage lamp ( which we painted) a cute piece of art, a plant, and a cool vintage globe.
