Waterzuivering Sint-Oedenrode
Het jonge eendje van een dag oud is de enig overlevende uit een nest van zes. De andere vijf jonge eendjes waren op dat moment reeds overleden door een trieste gebeurtenis.
The Hottentots-Holland mountain range taken from Clarens Drive, a popular route between Gordons Bay and Rooi-Els in the Western Cape. The road is renowned for the number of bends, 70 in the 20 kilometer stretch. It is also a popular spot with surfers.
Was wäre London wohl ohne rote Telefonzelle? Klar machen Smartphones diese festen Telefone überflüssig, aber ich freue mich immer wieder wenn ich eine sehe.
What would London well without red telephone box? Clear smartphones make this fixed phones superfluous, but I am always happy when I see one.

Botanical name: Petalidium coccineum.
Family: Acanthaceae.

TCS 102001 met DinnerTrain in Woerden Molenvliet
WOERDEN: sinds TCS over de 102001 (ex-1835) beschikt, is het aantal bezoekjes van de DinnerTrain via Bodegraven enorm toegenomen. Eind februari dit jaar vertrok de trein een weekend lang vanuit Amsterdam Centraal, waarna via Woerden-Leiden-Haarlem de hoofdstad weer werd bereikt. Afgelopen weekend vertrok de trein vanuit Haarlem en werd praktisch gezien dezelfde route gereden.
Ondanks dat het achtertuinlijntje zich kenmerkt met het vele enkelspoor, zijn er naast het thuisstation ook nog een paar andere plekken op het traject waar er kruisingsmogelijkheden zijn, waaronder het Woerdense Molenvliet. De afgelopen weken viel het mij op dat een hele reeks aan hinderlijke struiken en boompjes in de boog waren weggesnoeid, waardoor de fotostek tijdelijk weer te gebruiken is. Tijdelijk, aangezien het riet hier jaarlijks als kool groeit. De keuze voor een fotostek was dan ook snel gemaakt.
De trein uit Leiden liep een paar minuutjes vertraging op tussen Bodegraven en de brug over de Dubbele Wiericke, waardoor de DinnerTrain voor de rooie liep. Kort na passage van de SLT kwam de eettrein langzaam voorbij gereden als trein 33200 naar Alphen a/d Rijn, waarna als 33201 door werd gereden naar Haarlem.

Looking across False Bay to the Blousteenberge from one of the laybys on Clarence Drive, the road connecting Rooi-Els with Gordon's Bay in the Western Cape. This one is just south of the Blousteen dive site. One of the most stunning drives I have been on anywhere in the world.

En het bleef maar komen met de leuke treinen. Het is iets over 10u als de volgende TXL passeert ,193 274, met volbeladen LKW Walter trein. > Logo > ( UNTERWEGS IM AUFTRAG DER NATUR ) Vanaf hier verder richting Fulda. (D) En er kwam zo nu en dan ook 'n rooie DBC voorbij.
Zaterdagnacht tegen 4u werd er vertrokken naar de Duitse Haunetal. Na 'n rit van 4u kwamen we om 8u30 aan in Hermannspiegel.(D). En de 1ste trein die er passeerde was meteen prijs, geen saaie rooie, maar 'n Werbe loc van TXL ,193 234 , OFF ROAD bestickering , met 'n goed beladen Hupactrein met oa. veel LKW Walter trailers. Vanaf hier gaat hij verder in zuidelijke richting.
* En het was prijsschieten van fraaie Werbe locs.

Coastal landscapes and tidal pool in many layers of velvety pastel dominate in Jacobien de Rooi's work. She always bases her drawings on fragments of nature she has seen at first hand.
The artist herself:
"Somewhere on the east coast of Donegal in Ireland, there's small beach with a big history. A ship from the Spanish Armada was wrecked here. The place is dotted with an unbelievable variety of rocks in the most unlikely colors and shapes. A large outcrop seems to float on a thin layer of water. And beneath the water, the different colors of the rocks shimmer. The large scale of my landscapes gives them an inescapable presence."
Museum MORE, Gorssel, The Netherlands, had last year an interesting exhibition called 'Size Matters | Monumental Drawings', where you could see dozens of large-scale and imposing drawings. All these works of art measure at least 2 meters in height of width, larger than most people themselves.
I visited this exhibition, just a day before it ended and was quite impressed. I will show you a few works. Enjoy ;-))

Hi all, been overseas in South Africa for several weeks, looking forward to seeing your pictures again and inflicting some of mine on you. This was taken at Rooi Els Beach in the Western Cape province of South Africa, with a strong offshore wind going.
the western cape is maybe the most beautiful region of one of the most beautiful contries in the whole world,
South Africa.
i was in a little paradise called Rooi Els looking for a rockjumper.i failed to photograph it,just saw at distance.
as consolation prize i got another beauty,
the orange breasted sunbird (anthobaphes violacea)
sunbirds are mainly nectar feeder but eat also insects and spiders.the tipical habitat of this bird is the fynbos,
a shrubland vegetation that can be found along the coast and some mountains of the southern part of africa.

Er werd gemeld dat meester Vince om 12u50 uit Oberhausen-west was vertrokken met zijn lege kolentrein. Tegen de klok van 14u passeert hij in 'n zonovergoten Anrath (D). Tractie is RC DE 676 met aan de haak de lege kolentrein (48506) Deze keer niet de fraaie rooie die zat blijkbaar in 'n andere omloop.
Met 'n vriendelijke groet naar de 2 fotografen zet hij zijn lange reis voort naar Viersen-Venlo en heeft als eindbestemming de Amsterdamse westhaven.

Omdat de treinen zo kort op elkaar zaten liep de 189 206 zelfs voor de rooie. Toen we met de auto wegreden stond hij nog steeds stil maar was het sein al wel groen. Helaas dus geen 2de klik. Maar wat schetste mijn verbazing in het station van Leutesdorf zag ik alle seinen op rood staan. Daarom werd toch maar even naar dit plekje gegaan. Helaas stond er al een Duitse telefotograaf dus kon er geen foto met de schuur worden gemaakt. Maar goed voor een bonus klik vond ik hem toch wel erg leuk.

Rooi Els is considered one of the most accessible and reliable places to find this species. Adding to its special status, the Cape Rockjumper is endemic to South Africa.
