Teahupo'o is one of the best known surf spots in the world with occasional extremely high waves. On this occasion the waves were small.

Took this last week in Northern California while on my way to Stockton, CA. The sun was in my eyes but cropped it out of this picture, blown out sky wasn't helping the look of this picture. I did this in B&W as well. Looked pretty good, but to me this through the windshield shot looks better in windshield filtered color.
Today I'm near Fort Worth Texas, early for my delivery tomorrow afternoon about 30 miles away. Good to have some free time to get Flickred up.
Here's a shot I took yesterday, a lot different conditions.

45 years after rolling off the shop floor at GMD London, veteran Canadian Pacific SD40-2 6080 still earns her keep on the high iron, pushing a mile-a-minute on the approach to Guelph Junction amidst some late-winter flurries.

But you're not, I'm all alone
Tryin' to write this song
Sippin' on some bourbon and blowin' a little strong
This is therapeutic music so I'm takin' my time
Figured while I had a second, I would drop you a line
Me and Will are doing well man, don't worry 'bout us
I bet yo ass up there chillin' probably rollin' it up
I hope that Heaven has a smoking section
I hope that Heaven has a smoking section
When it's said and done and we're all gone
I hope they got a place that we can blow
I hope that Heaven has a smoking section

An old ranch near Rollins, Montana looks like its awaiting the return of Jesse James and his gang.
Happy Fence Friday everyone.

After slowing to see the signal at Lee Ranch Junction, ESWR's SD40s get notched out & back up to track speed with their empty coal train. The tracks in the foreground go to the Lee Ranch mine, which has been shuttered since 2016. Coal trains now load at the newer El Segundo mine.

Thanks to George Pitarys who reminds me today with his uploads, the fact that Action Red once ruled the Baie des Chaleurs part of Gaspésie.
Société du Chemin de Fer de la Gaspésie first ever windmill blades unit train rolls into a super elevated curve at the permissive 30MPH track speed just east of Nouvelle-Ouest on the road's Cascapedia subdivision.
The new service gave SCFG about a train a month between New-Richmond and Matapedia between 2016 and 2021. Blades are trucked from the LM Windpower plant near Gaspé to the loading site located on the former Smurfit-Stone paper plant site in New-Richmond.
Since then, a change in the size of the blades produced by LM Windpower prevent their haulage by rail.
Trackage east of New-Richmond toward Gaspé, a distance of about 134 miles, was still under embargo by Transport Canada after many bridges were found too old and dangerous. The SCFG still operates 68 miles of trackage connecting with CN in Matapedia and serving three active customers.

I never drink in the afternoon
I never drink alone
But I sure do like a drink or two
When I get home
Every evening what I do
I sit here in this chair
I pour myself some whiskey
And watch my troubles vanish into the air
Rollin', rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more
Rollin', rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more
Used to worry about gamblin'
Throwin' my money away
Used to worry about wastin' time
And layin' round the house all day
But I'm all right now
I'm all right now
I never thought I'd make it
But I always do somehow
I'm all right now
Rollin, rollin'
Ain't gonna worry no more
Rollin, rollin
Ain't gonna worry no more

8247 leads a short L106-07 across the Bear Creek Draw. It's incredibly rare to catch this YN2 EMD outside of Bayview, let alone on an elusive train like L106.
I love jazz music and this guy knows how to play. A suberb trombonist in full flow at The Malt Cross Victorian Theatre in Nottingham. Dennis Rollins, you are amazing.
This tracing wheel (or pattern wheel) must be about 40 years old. Mum's had it forever. It's well used, as you can see. For Macro Mondays "Made of Metal" theme. HMM!
Utah Railway SD45 No. 9143 had the misfortune of splitting a switch and rolling a rail on the Roundhouse Lead at Provo Yard the afternoon of April 27, 1989.

Here, the official flag of the Lower Murray River can be seen flying.
The Empire Builder, Amtrak 8, rolls through Rollins Avenue in Minneapolis on the BNSF Midway Subdivision. The development has been encroaching on the railroad here at the north end of the University of Minnesota and Dinkytown to the south and the Como neighborhood to the north. This scene is much cleaner and more colorful that it has in the past. I like it.
