I didn't buy this machine blind. I had seen a number of threads on the HAMB and knew some "tweaking" would be required to get satisfactory performance.
I bought the machine so I could fabricate floor and door panels for my Model A project. I'm going to start that phase of the project soon. So last night I put the now ragged box in my pickup along with an old drill press base and post I salvaged many years ago.
I took it all to my friend Marty's very well equipped shop.
A couple of pieces of angle, some nuts and bolts along with a little cutting and welding had it all mounted up.
A test run produced the expected result. A lot of flexing, At one point, the alignment of the dies was off by over 1/2".
I came home, reviewed the solutions other HAMB members had come up with and went to bed with a plan fermenting in my brain.
I love this line! The roller derby connection, the bright colors and monster attitude! Ghoulia and Operetta were pure love right out of the box, Lagoona and Frankie got a few tweaks before the shoot.

I'm not actually set up, technique-wise or equipment-wise for shooting sports. So I have a lot of bad shots.
But one of my coworkers and his wife were visiting from out of town and wanted to see Roller Derby, which therefore meant that I'd have an appropriately geekly audience to watch with. So I helped transport him safely (my other coworkers snicker, considering that I drove him) to the rink and back from his hotel.
He was, of course, impressed by the well oiled San Francisco Bay Area weirdness-industrial complex which includes people who will attend events far out of the mainstream and sponsors that don't think twice about sponsoring roller derby.
Had a day out to Gullivers world today , it aint quite Disney land but the kids had a great day :)
i took my camera , obviously !! but decided only to take two lenses with me , i was just going to my 50 but i thought i might have need a bit of zoom so took my 200 too :)
i took this with my 50 and shot right at the sun , i had hoped for a bit of arm waving but there wasnt much going on , got some waving on the shot below but the flare isn`t as sharp :(
If i had stayed there a little longer i might have nailed the shot i was after but the next ride was shouting out at the kids ! im sure you know what i mean :)
