Indian Roller----বাংলা নীলকান্ত---coracias benghalensis

I finally got the large old two handed Hamilton proofing roller recovered and ready to use. I had it covered with rubber, because composition would never survive the variations of temperature and humidity that I experience in my shop space. The core of the roller is 14 inches and made of wood, which helps with the weight, but I doubt that it would survive another re-coating. The missing handles were replaced with handles from T. N. Lawrence, and it weighs in at five pounds. The three green rollers are also from Lawrence, and have held up very well considering they are about 15 years old. The poster composing stick hanging on the right was sold by R. Hoe & Company, and is easily 100 years old. The brackets used to hold the rollers are curtain-rod brackets; for the smaller rollers they had to be significantly altered to hang the rollers closer to the backing board. My father always cautioned that I didn't have to re-invent the wheel, but I have discovered in the letterpress field, and especially the hand-press part of it, that re-invention is almost a daily necessity.

Not feeling too well for past few days so forgive me not visiting your photostreams. Dug out a pic from last month when the roller chicks were still in their nest.

Got this roller yesterday of the Patel's family A8L. Such a beautiful car. Sorry for the crap quality, had to boost everything heavily to get the shot.

The Indian Roller (Coracias benghalensis), was formerly locally called the Blue Jay. It is a member of the roller family of birds which breeds in tropical southern Asia from Iraq to Thailand. It is not migratory, but undertakes some seasonal movements.

The Indian Roller is a stocky bird, the size of a Jackdaw at 30-34cm. It has a warm brown back, lilac breast and face, and blue crown, wings, tail and belly. Sexes are similar, but the juvenile is a drabber version of the adult. The Southeast Asian race C. b. affinis has a green back and purple underparts, and is sometimes considered a separate species.

Indian Roller is striking in its strong direct flight, with the brilliant blues of the wings contrasting with the brown back.

The small but well-formed fleet of 8 Airbus A330-300's with Air Canada continue to gain valuable work... Despite the small fleet, they have been for providing the gap between the Boeing 767-300ER's and large Boeing 777 fleet.

The 8 strong fleet will feature a cabin update, mainly the inclusion of Premium Economy seating from 2016 whilst the rest of the interior will remain the same, whilst also refreshing the exterior with new paint jobs.

With only 8 Airbus A330's, they make very regular appearances at Heathrow providing flights to either Calgary and Montreal. They originally placed one A330 on one of the Toronto flights during the winter but that has since been replaced with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

I've been trying to get this beauty since I first saw him from 150 meters away 2 years ago. I spotted him on the motorbike yesterday so went back with the car today and there he was. Stunning bird.

1958 Manchester registered Caterpillar road roller of P. Merriman from Syston, Leicester, looks a bit of an animal. I presume the front half is made-up from a motor scraper, but the combination must have been a bit of a bone shaker on the road.

Still another demonstration of how stable the skates are. I'm sure that's exactly what you're paying attention to.
