I've got a lot of pictures ready to post, but couldn't decide on what direction to go with. Then I remembered my trip through the Palouse last fall, and that I had a few pictures waiting.
Fog is something that fascinates me every time I am amidst of it. As the clouds roll and the winds start to pick up, the fog gently lifting and the sun's rays beaming through all makes for a compelling wintry morning...
As we gear up to it, I was reminiscing with one I had shot a few years ago in Kerala, India. Munnar is one of the most renowned hill stations in Southern India. It brims with vast expanses of tea estates and the tea plantation is something that generates a lot of revenue for the country.
The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers", referring to its location at the confluence of the Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers.
This was shot from one of the locations up in the mountains and would you believe at 10 AM in the morning! It was that foggy that morning.
If you see it for a while, your eyes could start discerning the other trees amidst the fog...

Mist clearing from the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, after it totally covered the sea! It's always such a pleasure on days like this to just sit and watch this mist flowing in and out while basking in the sun! Rolled together by The Antlers is about right!
Back in the day if your smoking material became too small to smoke but too big to toss, you reached into your pocket for this little device. It looks like a key but when squeezed the blade would separate and it became a handy clip. It has remained on my keychain ever since. It has held up quite well over the years, possibly because it was made in the USA.
After making a pickup at Keenan, Canadian National train L568 is ready to roll south on the Missabe Sub with BLE 906 in the lead.

Daily Dog Challenge: Dear Diary
In a high country snowstorm, an eastbound Burlington Northern freight has stopped at the end of double track to meet a westbound freight on March 3, 1988. Even though the wet snow and wind is making things a bit unbearable outside at Summit, Montana, a crew member steps off lead locomotive GP50 No. 3152 to give the westbound a “roll by” inspection along with a friendly wave.

When spring comes I like to take my dogs to Beale Strand. On this occasion they had to stand back and give the starring role to this horse. I was thrilled when he went for several rolls before going back into his horse box.
The Iowa Northern's North Crew slowly roll south on the Manly Sub outside of Nora Springs. The crew will stop and do work here at Nora Springs with the CP in a few miles. The rear car is a 5-packers full of the new business IANR got beginning of 2020 that is going to the Butler Logistic Park from the UP at Manly. I wanted to get some photos of the new business but today it was combined with the North Job. Stoffer is a siding put in for interchange with CP-IANR, but looks like now its being used for storage.
