Zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Cádiz zählt die Kathedrale aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Sie liegt direkt am Meer und im historischen Zentrum an der Plaza de la Catedral.
Der Bau der Kathedrale von Cádiz vollzog sich in 116 Jahren. Verschiedene Architekten und Baumeister gaben sich den Stift in die Hand und integrierten dabei ganz unterschiedliche Stile: Barock, Rokoko und Neoklassik – 1838 wurde das Gotteshaus dann geweiht.
Die lichte Helle setzt sich im Innenraum der Kathedrale fort, der weit und großzügig wirkt und von korinthischen Marmorsäulen strukturiert ist. Er misst 85 Meter Länge, 60 Meter Breite und beeindruckende 52 Meter Höhe. Nicht zuletzt bietet er angenehm kühle Temperaturen in der Gluthitze des andalusischen Sommers.
One of the main attractions of Cadiz is the 18th-century cathedral. It is located directly on the sea and in the historic center on the Plaza de la Catedral.
The construction of the Cathedral of Cadiz took 116 years. Various architects and master builders took charge and integrated very different styles: baroque, rococo and neoclassical – the church was consecrated in 1838.
The bright light continues in the interior of the cathedral, which appears wide and spacious and is structured by Corinthian marble columns. It measures 85 meters in length, 60 meters in width and an impressive 52 meters in height. Last but not least, it offers pleasantly cool temperatures in the sweltering heat of the Andalusian summer.
In the nave we find an impressive rococo pulpit (1741–1745), made in oak, gilded wood and white and black marble by Laurent Delvaux.
A portrait of one of the beautiful male ruffs in the breeding time. Now, two months later, they are brown-grey and look similar to the ladies they tried to impress so intensively in May. Isn't that a wonderful plumage?

In the 12th century church of Nävelsjö, Småland, there is an altar made by Johan Ullberg - he was from the south of Sweden and made quite a lot of them. It dates to 1761 and made in the Rococo style - but a rather more crude style than the one you would see in elegant palaces and great cathedrals. This is a small church far out in the country.

is a Catholic abbey church in Munich, Germany.
It was the first Rococo church of Old Bavaria and shaped the development of religious architecture in Bavaria.
It is located in the center of Lehel opposite to the neo-romanesque Catholic parish church of St. Anna im Lehel.

18th century gravestones, churchyard of St John the Baptist, Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire. A gravestone is a religious statement, however, its style follows the ups and downs of secular fashion. Rococo was "in" from the middle of the 18th century with its cherubs and putti. Perhaps it does reflect a more liberal way to think of the afterlife. Fuji X-E3 plus Samyang 12/2 wide-angle lens at approx. F16.

A Ruff, showing its mating plumage. These birds always remind me on the fashion of the times of the Rococo, or maybe on a dragqueen, or also on a diva in a movie of the fourties. Thinking of this I had to try out if black and white will look also nice on the ruff - he may forgive me as he will for sure not look like a girl instead of impressing them.. :-)

The cathedral of Amiens is a Gothic masterpiece - but the main altar is actually a Rococo creation, complete with a screen made of wood behind it, representing Heaven.
The cathedral, Notre-Dame d'Amiens, dates to the 13th century - founded in 1220 and consecrated some 50 years later, though some work on the church still remained then. The first architect was Robert de Luzarches, who worked on the church until 1228, he was followed by Thomas de Cormont who continued on the work for some 30 years, and then the work was finished by his son Renaud de Cormont. The cathedral is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Preysing-Palais, Munich, Germany
It is Munich’s first and most beautiful Rococo palace, quite a significant monument, both from an art-historical viewpoint and as a tourist attraction. Built in 1723-1728 by the electoral master builder Effner for Count Maximilian von Preysing-Hohenaschau, it was reconstructed after World War II by Erwin Schleich.
Especially famous is its imposing stairwell. As you proceed up the magnificent staircase you can enjoy the exquisite sweeping ornamental stuccowork — one of Munich’s most beautiful examples of aristocratic architecture.

Nymphenburg Palace is a listed building in the Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district of the Bavarian capital of Munich. It was the summer residence of the electors and kings of Bavaria from the House of Wittelsbach from 1715 to 1918. Over the course of two centuries, the architects Enrico Zuccalli and Joseph Effner transformed it from a small country house into a monumental three-winged complex in the Baroque and Rococo styles. Together with the east-facing rondel, the west-facing park, four castles and numerous canals, the palace forms a unique architectural ensemble. Nymphenburg is one of the largest palaces in Germany and one of the most important in Europe.
Due to controversial plans to demolish the palace wing at Maria-Ward-Straße 1a for the Biotopia Museum, Nymphenburg Palace was placed on the Red List of the Association of German Art Historians at the beginning of 2021. In response, citizens, experts and associations founded the "Action Group for Nymphenburg Palace" in April 2021. They also launched an online petition for the relocation of Biotopia and for the preservation of the palace wing.
Schloss Nymphenburg ist ein Baudenkmal im Bezirk Neuhausen-Nymphenburg der bayerischen Landeshauptstadt München. Es war von 1715 bis 1918 Sommersitz der Kurfürsten und Könige von Bayern aus dem Haus Wittelsbach. Wegen umstrittener Pläne, den Schlosstrakt an der Maria-Ward-Straße 1a für das Museum Biotopia abzureißen, wurde Schloss Nymphenburg Anfang 2021 auf die Rote Liste des Verbandes Deutscher Kunsthistoriker gesetzt. Als Reaktion darauf gründeten Bürger, Experten und Vereine im April 2021 den „Aktionskreis für Schloss Nymphenburg“. Außerdem starteten sie eine Online-Petition für die Verlegung von Biotopia und für die Erhaltung des Schlosstraktes.

The former monastery church of St. Marinus and Anianus in Rott am Inn is considered a rococo masterpiece in Bavaria. Well-known artists contribute to the magnificent appearance of the church. Starting with the ingenious master builder Johann Michael Fischer, through the fresco painter Matthäus Günther and the plasterer Jakob Rauch.
In 1759 the construction of the church began, which was consecrated by the Freising Auxiliary Bishop in 1763.
