Traveling down Kahekili Highway on Maui's north shore was a thrill that's hard to forget. One lane (dirt) road, breathtaking views and sometimes anxiety from navigating the drive. Word of advice: get a rental car as small as possible. You will thank me later.

Mr Morris and I spent a lovely day slip-sliding around the Ogwen valley hoping for some good reflections. The low hanging cloud put paid to that, but we did have a brief spell of golden floodlight on the slopes above Llyn Idwal. I’ll maybe post that one later. This was a little further round the track at the base of Devils Kitchen, an eerie light cast through the low lying cloud by a small patch of blue sky above.
On the way down we heard possibly the most ridiculous words ever uttered in these regions. As we reached the end of the path, right by the Ogwen café, 4 ladies (in trainers) were heading upwards when one remarked on the footpath. ‘Ooh, that’s a trip hazard’!
Mr M and I exchanged frowning glances.
FFS! This is Snowdonia, what do you expect? A few minutes later as we were tucking into a fine slab of Rocky Road, the same ladies returned, limbs intact and possibly deflated and disappointed not to find a handrail all the way to Devils Kitchen!
Trip hazard, my a***!

When faced with the harsh, cold waters and rocky storms of life, keep in mind that there is always a peaceful place of calm serenity waiting if you just hold on and ride out the storm. Never, ever give up!!!! What looks like an impossible journey is really a steppingstone to a beautiful tomorrow!

One of my favorite photos, my son took this image for his school photography class 10 years ago. He has always been fascinated with miniatures. This toy truck is 4in (10cm) long.
This turned out completely different from what I've planned and expected. And I haven't decided if I like it or not yet... hahaha
I made the trees and the grass from strings of different sizes and the glass pebbles were supposed to look more like a road than a river. hahaha
Anyway, this is part of my "Lost In Translation" series. I remember the first time I was asked if I wanted a "rocky road" and I had no idea what to answer.... hahahaha
I really love the candy and I miss it so much as we don't have it here.
