This building in downtown Vancouver looks like a rocketship to me. I haven't been able to find the name of it, so if anyone knows....
Things have gotten crazy here because of the flooding. Supply chains are cut off, so many of the grocery shelves are empty. Yesterday, the government announced that there is a temporary 30 litre restriction of gas for vehicle each fill up, so of course, immediately, there were huge line ups at the gas stations, people bringing jerry cans, etc. and now many of them are empty. Amazing how quickly things go from calm to chaos....
Maybe some of us need to go find a home in space....
Never in my wildest imagination folks did I think I would be able to get this when I took it never thinking it would come out, and it did.
Appreciate all who comment, fave and visit, thank you and have a great and safe Sunday.
Green Heron, Wildwood Lake, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Title lyrics from the song of the same name by Romance On A Rocketship.
Say goodnight to gravity
Hold on to me...
The passing stars light the way
Wow! Did not know they sang this awesome song.
The Gherkin taken during 2014's Photo24 event. I've recently (within the last 6 months) edited this shot using Silver Efex Pro. I've always thought that this building has a hint of 1950's Rocket Ship about it - hence the monotone treatment

Another "drive by" photo taken from the car window as we traveled I-65 through the state of Alabama on our way north to Ohio and Michigan.
Los Arboles "Rocketship" Park. A scenic park with a great view of the LA Basin.
I had to climb inside the rocketship to light paint the interior.
These rocketships are designed for kids. I could barely fit through the portals leading to each level so setting up my lights was a minor challenge.
Rather than wedging my down the portals to exit the rocketship, I decided to take the slide from the second level and slid so fast I couldn't stop and landed on my keister. These things are deadly for adults.

Iain (Highlandscape) and I took a trek across to the West Coast yesterday, finishing our trip at Rhue, a small headland at the top of Loch Broom near Ullapool and witnessed a very pleasing sunset looking down the loch towards the Summer Isles. The diminutive lighthouse situated on the point certainly can't be called impressive; I rather thought it looked more like a small rocket with its gantry, ready to blast its keeper off for a jaunt into space.

An American Airlines MD80 is silhouetted against a spectacular desert sunset...Phoenix, AZ March 5, 2014.
"S/N" is the aircraft's serial number. "L/N" is a Boeing code denoting what order the airframe came off the production line. "F/N" refers to an individual airline's fleet numbering system. Not all airlines use a fleet number; not all manufacturers use a line number.

The LL724 Tandem Hawk is a twin-cockpit Federation transatmospheric craft with three main engines. Shown here with various groundside tender vehicles including mobile ladder, fueler and pilot transfer landtrain, its variable-geometry atmospheric wings give it excellent in-atmosphere manoeuvring ability while its dual twin lasers and shoulder-mounted proton beams give it a significant armament for a general-purpose Federation explorer.
Typical Federation cockpit layout has the pilot on the right side and the navigator or commander on the left, but "opposite-handed" left-hand-drive versions do exist.
"Launched" on Friday night. The Rocketship was a major art/performance piece at Burning Man 2009.
Art Piece Description:
The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is a rococo retro-futurist future-rustic vernacular between yesterday's tomorrow and the future that never was, a critical kitsch somewhere between The Moons of Mongo & Manga Nouveau.
