I decided to try out a B rated SCFI Movie poster.

I always love capturing the dogs with my camera near the river. They love going there...it's absolutely their favorite thing in life!!! Rocket can be kind of hard to keep up with, but he's gotten so much better!! Have a nice week ahead everyone! I've been so busy picking and cleaning apples...can't wait for it to be done!!!! 🍎
He really is...but I think mom is bored too!!! My dogs actually enjoy this interaction...but I think I need to find outdoor exciting pics!!! lol...:P Tomorrow we're going to go out and take some photos. It was too cold today for dogs...especially since Penny was ill the night before. She is doing well now....Benadryl to save the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) That is Rocket's new baby!!! The pink one...LOL
and I think it's gonna be a long, long time..

Zero hour nine AM
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight"

this is what I have so far, it is going to take me a while to finish this :)
I have used scraps from at least 4 different people in these stars!
Sorry I haven't been around....have had a sick Rocketman!!! Poor guy has picked up a severe infection....I've never had a dog who gets sick so much....maybe bad genes? I love him to pieces but sure hope he gets well. He is really sick...I think he's feeling better now....but man...that shook me up bad!!!!!😮 He was crying and whining for 3 solid hours.... I had time to pack alittle lunch, bring Rocket some snacks and toys.....so that helped alittle. Then the vet brought him out to me, and then Rocket cried the entire way home...😭.
all my friends and relatives ask to see the Rocket Man when they come to visit...hopefully he'll survive a few more decades..

Officially it's called the "Gemini Giant" and he's about 18 feet tall. Located next to the "Launching Pad" restaurant along this stretch of the old Route 66 in Wilmington, IL. The restaurant is now closed and Rocket Man's future is uncertain at this time.
The "Wreckless" sticker on his crotch appears to be a more recent addition.

This sculpture was fabricated from recycled material including, beer barrels, gas bottles and various other scrap metals that would have otherwise been destined for landfill, scrap or rust. The sculpture was built and designed in Glentannar workshop by one of the Stable Solutions team, Steve Keniry with his trainee Billy Lafferty.
I couldn't sleep, so I decided to have a walk in the early morning. I was a little apprehensive, but any nerves soon went. The streets of New York actually feel a lot safer than those of many cities in the UK.

It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh, no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone”
-Elton John, Rocket Man
heute Nacht mit eisigen Fingern und high Iso mal was anderes probiert.....
Nicht besonders, aber spannend... ;-)
A shot of my male Dachshund. I think Rocket is about 5 now. Such a well adjusted young dog...him and Penny are best buds...you'd never know it though. Penny gets so annoyed with him, but when he's gone and comes home....she is the first one waiting for him to get back! lol I love my dogs...don't know what I'd do without them! :) Have a nice evening everyone! :)
...and much better viewed large along with the photos in the comment section.
Good morning and I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Today's featured butterfly is a Silver-spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus), which is the largest of the Skipper butterflies in the local area with a wing span of 1 3/4 - 2 5/8 inches (4.5 - 6.7 cm). And in recent weeks I've been seeing a lot of these when literally afield so I'll be posting more shots of these always erratic and rocket fast flyers over the coming months on different wildflowers.
As for this wildflower, with flickr friend Brian's help once again, I'm pretty sure it's Common Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum). Just in case, I've included a better picture of the flower itself in the comment section and would appreciate if anyone disagrees to please advise me accordingly. And if it's any help, these plants are about three feet tall and were growing in a wet marshy area. Thank you.
Take care...and I hope you have a truly great Monday and week.

The artwork is of Konstantin Tsidkovsky, a Russian scientist and founder of Cosmonautics who lived 17 September [O.S. 5 September] 1857 – 19 September 1935). He was a Russian and Soviet rocket scientist and pioneer of the astronautic theory. Along with the French Robert Esnault-Pelterie, the German Hermann Oberth and the American Robert H. Goddard, he is considered to be one of the founding fathers of modern rocketry and astronautics. His works later inspired leading Soviet rocket engineers such as Sergei Korolev and Valentin Glushko and contributed to the success of the Soviet space program.
Tsiolkovsky spent most of his life in a log house on the outskirts of Kaluga, about 200 km (120 mi) southwest of Moscow. A recluse by nature, his unusual habits made him seem bizarre to his fellow townsfolk. (Thanks to Wikipedia)
In the background is the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium which is located in Brisbane’s Mt. Coot-tha Botanic Garden precinct.
The Planetarium was officially opened on 24 May 1978. The Planetarium is named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, governor of the colony of New South Wales (1821 - 1825) and well known Scottish astronomer who established the first significant observatory at Parramatta, Australia, in 1822 for mapping the southern skies. The Planetarium is located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from the Central Business District, and is administered by the Brisbane City Council.
The Planetarium features the 12.5m diameter Cosmic Skydome (hemispherical planetarium theatre) with a maximum concentric seating capacity of 130. Extensive space exploration and astronomy displays in the Planetarium's Foyer and Gallery include the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon landing with a replica of Neil Armstrong's space suit and a 1/48th-scale Saturn V rocket, meteorites, and numerous models of spacecraft, rockets, and astronomical instruments. In 2018, a major permanent exhibit - Skylore: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Astronomy - was installed in the Gallery. The original Zeiss star projector was removed from the Cosmic Skydome during the upgrade in 2010 and was placed on display in the foyer in early 2012. A replacement optical star projector by Ohira Tech was installed in the Cosmic Skydome in early 2013. A mini-theatre usually features a regularly updated Space Telescope Science Institute web feed. An observatory contains a permanently mounted Zeiss 15 cm refractor and a Meade 25.4 cm "Go To" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

My poor boy had to go to the doggy doctor this afternoon. Hadn't even been home five minutes and I knew it was time to go....glad I made the appointment yesterday before the weekend comes and their prices are three times higher!!!! He's been messing with one ear and it was quite red....when I took him in today they said good thing I brought him in as both ears are infected!!! Augh!!! So glad I got him in....but right after I get off of my week's work is certainly not the time I want to be doing this! lol....we got his medicines in him and he's now sleeping like a baby. Vet said allergies are the main cause of ear problems for dogs! Same with kids!!! Augh!!!!!!!!!!! That really bites because allergies are so hard to figure out!!! :P Have a nice weekend everyone! :)
