The RG-39 engine is just a display piece made up of various parts of a J-2 engine.

By the side of the RG-39 is a countdown timer that runs on a 30-minute cycle.

When the timer reaches zero, the RG-39 blasts off. Shaking and emitting smoke. Blasting out air and emitting light adds to the impression of a real rocket engine.
