This was a self-portrait of Koko and I on the 4th of July. We were at Devil's Punchbowl in California. Our family went to take our remote controlled rock crawlers through the trails. We had a great day!
If you thought I was old but somehow don't look it, then I have picnik to thank for that! (Duh, of course this is edited . . . muahahaha, no one can ever see the real me! = D

Santa Rosa, CA - After all these years I had no idea that Darth Vader likes to drive is his Jeep on his off-time. More specially, I had no idea he had a Jeep.
Rock Crawling in Choke Cherry Canyon near Farmington, New Mexico. A grueling, challenging sport, both on man and machine.
Jeeping in Choke Cherry Canyon at one of the early competitions in the fast growing sport of off-road rock crawling. Like many other sports, it soon developed into high dollar big money sponcers with a trend to move up to more sophisticated machines which turned into specialty buggies rather than stock body vehicles run by the regular enthusiast.
My daughter sent this to me yesterday, she was out for a hike on Kennesaw Mountain GA as she came across this young man and his RC car, she asked if she could position it and take a photo, all those years of watching me take photos really rubbed off on her.. Great job kiddo !
Now, I'm not saying that she can't make it, but it would hurt to find another way down... that next step is a doozie.

The climbing might look hard, but it's going down that really causes the white knuckles.

Jeeping in Choke Cherry Canyon - Farmington, New Mexico. Although out of sight, this driver's spotter is holding the other end of the tow line assisting his friend to get up the steep incline. Hat's Off to the Spotters in this Rock Crawling Competition - they really have the hard jobs! The driver's must stay between the cones. If they hit or run over a cone, points are deducted from their score.
King of the Hammers - #16
See "Moon Rise..." for info on the series from the week long "King of the Hammers" event.
Just a bunch of friends having fun rock crawling, in the OHV rec. area called Johnson Valley. It's just the calm before the storm when the pro's take on bigger rocks than these.

King of the Hammers #8
Many of of the spectators who came to the "King of the Hammers" event, also came to enjoy this vast OHV (off highway vehicle) recreation area. That also includes going where few people dare with their store bought vehicles. Nope, only specially equipped Jeeps, trucks etc., built at home or in a shop, dare take on this type of terrain. Of course all of that sand on the rocky mass doesn't help either. Keep going to see what happens next and next etc.
That much? I'm a big fan of rocks too... but this is taking it a little too far.

HH RIPSAW ⚡AV3F1 is the fastest and most maneuverable dual tracked ÆAV ever developed, with MC G-CNT STANAG 4569L6 NBC hull, forged β-Ti ERC, 2 × 2.8 × 0.4 m² CP, 406 mm ST, 528 mm AGC, Li-Fi, DBWL, TVS, TVPJ. Compared to analogous GP systems, CTT distributes vehicle's forces on a greater ground area, with enhanced handlings on harsh, steep slopes, better flotation over obstacles, lower rolling resistance, greater traction and acceleration, reducing soil compression and compaction without sinking on loose & impervious terrain even at low speed. Wheeled vehicles require much larger overall size and higher levels of mechanical complexity to achieve comparable cross-country mobility (e.g. G6).
