Quick candid photo of this robot kitty right after he was adopted, wrapped up and shipped out to his new home. Approximately 4" inches in height. A time-traveling, life-lesson teaching, earless blue robot cat!
Doraemon (ドラえもん) Totally pinched from Wikipedia comes this explanation for the uninitiated:
Doraemon was awarded the Japan Cartoonists Association Award for excellence in 1973. Doraemon was awarded the first Shogakukan Manga Award for children's manga in 1982, and the first Osamu Tezuka Culture Award in 1997. In March 2008, Japan's Foreign Ministry appointed Doraemon as the nation's first "anime ambassador." Ministry spokesman explained the novel decision as an attempt to help people in other countries to understand Japanese anime better and to deepen their interest in Japanese culture." The Foreign Ministry action confirms that Doraemon has come to be considered a Japanese cultural icon. In 2002, the anime character was acclaimed as an Asian Hero in a special feature survey conducted by Time Asia magazine.
These items are from around 1998-1999 so not as easy to find anymore.
Included in this picture is a Doraemon Japanese Pencil Board (shitajiki -- 下敷き, literally under-sheet aka pencil board). Shitajiki are traditionally used to protect the surface underneath the paper from soak-through (which was an issue with calligraphy paint and rice paper) and from pen/pencil pressure. This one is an unusual shape being die-cut which makes it extra special, if not as useful.
More Shitajiki/Pencil Boards here.
Next to the pencil board is a character shaped package of printed gum while underneath is packages of Doraemon gum. The packaged stick gum is not boring either as seen in this random blog post (the ones above are unopened but it's a good bet the wrappers are similar).
On the bottom is a Furikake packet that comes in groups of 20 in a Furikake package as seen in green foil next to the packet (though flattened). More packets from the furikake package can be seen in the next picture. I'm sure, as is usual for character foods there was a premium with this but I can't remember what it was and it seems to have been separated from the rest, possibly long gone. UPDATE: Premium found, it is a scratch-off card (unscratched) and will be in a photo soon to come.
And on the right is a box of Doraemon character band-aids/bandages that can be seen out and unfolded. Stylish!

Gold Glenda the robot kitty cat is silly and oddly pretty. The strange rustic golden kitty would be happy to live anywhere in the country or the city.

Singapore, Chinatown: Obviously there are no legal copyright arrangements in place. That does not stop the operators from doing relatively modest sales.
Another, hopefully better shot of the Doraemon furikake package along with a couple furikake packets and the premium card I finally found that comes in the package. It's a scratch-off puzzle card that I never scratched as I didn't understand it and it's no fun when I don't know if I'm winning (or if winning is even involved :D).
The rest of the furikake packets are in the next shot in my stream.
Other "edibles" here.
All these are from 1998 to 2000 so vintage of a sort. :)

A better shot of the Doraemon Plasters seen earlier. This shot shows the front and back of the package along with what the plasters themselves look like. Nifty!

A diorama premium that when put together shows a door the Doraemon (robotic earless cat) figure goes through and ends up in another place in time, either prehistoric (?) or on the beach. This is from before the turn of the century (1998 -- though only the Bandai candy belies its age...)! So perhaps a bit hard to find anywhere. And the figure alone is quite nifty even in miniature.

Er, I haven't quite figured this one out... And, I'm not keen on opening the package after all these years (let the next owner decide whether to do that) but it appears to be a "Teeter-Totter" style toy of some sort. A close-up of the tiny pic on the package detailing the premium is next in my stream but not all that enlightening to me (plus my super basic camera balks at detail work).
Still a must have for any Doraemon fan! :D
This is from 1998-1999.
More Candilicious FUN here.

The close-up composite picture pulled off of the package of Doraemon candy premium seen in the previous picture, to try and give a better idea of what it is which seems to be fashioned after a teeter-totter (balance) toy.
More tins here and more Candilicious FUN here.

This is all the furikake packets both front & back this time. :)
On one side is a character, and on the other is a puzzle!
The rest of the furikake package is in the previous shot.
