HULK SMASHER - The US Army answer.

Obviously this image is incredibly photoshopped! I took photos of all the individual elements (Doctor, Robot and back drop) and added them together. Sort of reminds me of the Iron Giant! I wish I could have made Baker's skin a bit less yellow and resculpt his crazy grin!

Sejak dua menjak ni, myLove selalu kena outstation. Dalam sebulan ni dah 3 kali keluar, nasib baik laa dekat jer, ke Hiroshima, yang dari sini ambil masa about 2 hours travel by car menggunakan highway. Keluar pagi2 sebelum pukul 6 dan balik lewat malam. Semalam pukul 1 pagi baru sampai rumah, huhu, mesti penat kan.

Dulu, setiap kali outstation, tinggal laa I seorang diri kat rumah. Takut laa jugak, hahaha. Dah laa belakang rumah ni ada kubur, mula laa nak fikir bukan2, dengar bunyi pelik sikit jer, otak ni dah merapu dah, hampeh sungguh! Tapi sekarang, dah ada Rafiqh, tak takut dah laa. Rafiqh ni pukul 8 dah nak tidur, so dengan mamanya sekali laa masuk tidur...

Kalau dulu, myLove outstation mahunya ambil masa berhari2. Kadang2 tu sampai tak tau berapa hari lagi baru selesai, huuu tensyen jer I yang mendengarnya. Bukan apa, kalau fix bila nak balik, at least boleh laa I pi melepak tidur rumah member2 ker, ajak member2 datang lepak sini ker buat teman. Ni bila jawab tak tahu lagi balik bila, adoiii..

Bercakap pasal balik lewat, kerja dengan company Jepun memang dah lumrahnya begitu laa. Kena kerah tenaga kaw2 punya, hahaha... Tak kisah laa kerja kat sini ker, Malaysia ker, mana ker, sama ja sistem diorang ni. Kalau kat sini, at least kerja teruk, gaji dan bonus banyak, kalau kat Malaysia, kadang2 OT pun tak dikira, huuu haprak sungguh kan?

Bulan 5 lepas, genap laa 3 tahun myLove kerja kat company Fuji Yusoki dia tu. Kilang ni buat arm robot, eh ni bukan robot mainan atau yang kecil2 tu tau. Yang ni robot2 besar untuk buat kerja2 berat... Yang I tahu, myLove kerjanya setting pergerakan robot, buat programming laa kiranya...

Kalau orang tanya, teruk tak dia kerja? ermmm jawapan I, ada laa pernah tak balik rumah langsung! Duk kat kilang tu untuk siapkan robot, hahaha. Dashyat laa jugak, penat woo tak tidur lebih 24hours. Dah tu, esoknya nak sambung balik kerja macam biasa, memang jenuh arr. Dah laa OT tak dibayar(sebab company kampung kot, entah, tak tahu).

Bukan apa, kasihan laa kat Rafiqh, kadang2 tak sempat jumpa ayahnya, mamanya pun kasihan gak, hihi. Pernah sekali tu, dah laa pagi tak sempat jumpa ayahnya, balik lewat pulak, dia dah tidur pun, tapi bila dia "rasa" ayahnya balik, dia bangun tak nak tidur, I angkat bawa ke ruang tamu(myLove tengah makan) nampak dia happy nak main, lepas tu baru dia nak tidur, rindu kot kat ayahnya, hehe...

Kerja ni kat mana2 pun sama je teruknya. Kalau nak releks, jadi staff government Malaysia laa, hahaha... I tak tahu orang lain yang kerja oversea tu, tapi bagi kami ni bukannya nak sangat duk jauh2, tapi fikirkan masa depan kami dan anak2, kalau balik Malaysia sekarang ni, dengan krisis ekonomi itu ini naik, kami tak nampak "jalan" nak capai target kami. So, berkorban sedikit masa hingga ekonomi keluarga dah stabil, baru nak balik bersaing bertungkus lumus di Malaysia pulak. Kalau tak nak, bak bagi kat I, hahaha...

Harapnya lepas balik Malaysia nanti, myLove tak payah kerja teruk2 macam sekarang. Moga hasrat dan perancangan kami terlaksana, moga Allah buka jalan pemudah bagi kami mencapainya, amin...

The very basic menu on the robot. You can toggle tracking the red card on/off, driving forwards as well on/off and the front lights on/off. It works pretty well and is super easy to use, at least!

The little camera on my robot is one step closer to working!

The current version uses interrupts on the HD signal to start capturing each line, and then reads in a byte of data, performs five NOPs and reads in the next byte. This is a pretty shitty way to sync but firing interrupts on the DCLK line is too slow and checking DCLK inside the HD interrupt routine is just as bad. I'll think of something!

At any rate, this method produces a patch of aligned image in the middle with loads of colour noise on either side. The image in the middle works reasonably well and does represent colours slightly but not very well.. not yet anyway!

Shown here is the camera reading hello world off a bit of paper.

Quite a few lines of newly-learnt assembler later, the ARM can now read in the image data perfectly and send it out to the LCD over SPI in real time! It looks even better in person but the photos are okay - colours are great and it's refreshing as fast as a mobile phone camera now, though I'm going to see how fast I can take it!

Success at last! The final step was telling the compiler I clobbered r6 to hold the address for the data - before that, it just sent random noise to the thing! One little "r6" and the thing worked perfectly.

of these four pins, the inner two were connect and the outer two were incorrectly connected to the wrong power supply (e.g. - to + and + to -). this caused a pretty dire short circuit /inside the ARM/ but luckily it was easy to fix: a quick snip and solder to the pins next door (conveniently on the right power supply) and the problem was fixed.

It works inside a safety-cage and has to be bolted to the solid floor.
