One of the best ways to spend a New Years Day morning is enjoying a "First Day Hike". I did just that this morning with friends from the Western Gate Chapter of the Florida Trail Association as we hiked around Bear Lake on the Florida Panhandle. While hiking on Saturday, we came across a section of land that was scorched by fire for a prescribed burn. The contrast of the vibrant green foliage against the burnt dead plants was super cool to see and photograph. Hope you enjoy!
